In the past 17 years Lamar has:

9 State Championships
2 State Runner-ups
3 State Semi-finals
2 State Quarter-finals
Plus whatever they do this year.

This will be Coach Beshore's 5th year coaching. He has;

2 State Championships
2 State Runner-ups
Plus whatever he does this year. Quite a start to his coaching career. Has any coach ever began their career with a better beginning?

Pretty crazy. Let’s see what else this “NR” Lamar team can do.

I think last night’s score will keep people doubting Lamar. Warsaw played tough and didn’t give in, but Lamar repeatedly shot themselves in the foot.

Turnover on downs with goal to go, two fumbles on Warsaw side of field while driving. Continuous false starts. Defense was dominant aside from two bombs late. I believe Warsaw only had 4 first downs all night..

Now they could certainly do that against a better team and lose, and Warsaw deserves credit for hanging tough and applying pressure. But I think this Lamar team is far closer to their dominant history than people are giving credit. Clean it up a little and that game’s a runaway.

Excited for another week of football, and hosting a playoff game so I can be in the deer stand longer!

Warsaw had that guy open on 4th and long at the end of the game.
Valle may throw for 700 yards against you guys.

Yup, it’s not great. Will have to generate pressure and have our QB/DB back to full strength and playing defense to limit it, or it will be bad.

Pembroke Hill has a pretty good qb and they don’t hesitate to throw. Offensively we could move the ball on them, it’s just hard to win when your shoot all your toes off. 4 interceptions and two fumbles will not win ballgames. Their overall quickness is better than most. Lamar having it at home I would have to pick Lamar. I was surprised by the Warsaw score. Figured Lamar would take the to the outhouse.

Has any coach ever been handed the keys to a program like that had won 12 district titles in a row when they took over? Obviously he’s a phenomenal coach but let’s not act like he isn’t just continuing what Bailey started. The expectation is to win a state title every year and they hired a guy who came up through the program who understands what it takes more than most.

McFarland at Webb City? It's not easy to follow a legend. Beshore deserves a lot of credit.

Webb finished 6-4 and stayed home for the playoffs just 2 years ago.

I’m not saying Beshore doesn’t deserve credit, I mean did just say that he was a phenomenal coach, I’m just wondering if anyone is really shocked? I’m not.

Where do you think I sprinted to immediately after the end of the Pembroke Hill at Lamar game?

I walked in and warned them the postgame rush was coming … got my chicken strip basket and a hot fudge sundae, sat down and relaxed before the drive home.
Out by the exit on 49 is a sign that says “State Champs”,,,,,,,,they didn’t bother to add a year :)

combing the vast talent pool in golden city, kenoma, oakton and jericho springs.
There was some talent that came out of Golden City; Denney, Tubaugh, Baldwin, and most famously Doc Fever. They hung with 11-man teams in the Midwest Conference for years with 15 players or less. Tough farm boys for sure. Lockwood and Lamar are lucky to have them.

The GC of today doesn't resemble when those guys were running around dishing out snot bubbles.

Don't forget the Proberts. Had one as my Jr high coach in the mid 70s, then my insurance agent for 35 years.
