This is a HUGE surprise. Goes back to what I said about why you all in Webb have such sustained success..............very hard to keep HC (and often staff) in one place very long anymore.
As great of a coach Bailey may be, that would be a very underwhelming hire for PSU imo.

In terms of publicity yes but I think he would he would be an outstanding coach.
if that actually is what happened and not just us speculating on a message board, I hope you’re right. Just seems like a massive transition. Hopefully he’s got an offense in mind to run because his Lamar offense is not working at that level.

I don’t know but it isn’t like he couldn’t coach a different offense. He can flat out coach.

Sad day for Lamar! I’d hate to be the next coach and have to follow in his footsteps! Lucky to have had a boy that played for him! It wasn’t easy and that’s what so many teams don’t understand. Football is your life 24/7 and if you aren’t dedicated to it then you might as well kiss any type of playing time goodbye. You took vacations around dead weeks, if you worked you worked around football. But the hard work paid off and what they learned from him on and off the field is something that they can carry with them thru out life.
What's a massive transition? He's already coached at the college level.

This sounds just like Coach Thomas now prepping for the C3 final for a second time at Odessa. He is sooooo intense.............in a very positive way.
MBFan kinda likes his radio gig but you never know. Sometimes when Pitt gives up a big play I think he’s about to come thru the microphone
If Rod were to leave ....I couldn't think of a better replacement than Bailey! I do have a buddy on the PSU coaching staff and he hinted of Bailey of being an assistant there next year but wouldn't confirm it
There is a great young group of coaches at Webb who work their tails off. when the day comes that John steps down I would hope one of those guys gets the job. Hell half of his family is on staff
