Correct. Looking at his bio, Hamilton is a biology teacher at the high school. From what I understand, the previous head coach was not a teacher in the building. Would seem like a big hinderance IMO.
Agree their pay scale is incredible. Eckley is already retired. JMO but if you look at his track record, he has been at places that really support their athletics and the whole town rallies around the schools. StL county, not so much.Looks like an underwhelming hire. With the pay scale that they have, they should have been after Eckley. He's close to retirement and could have really padded that pension pay out.
He couldn't have found a more perfect landing spot than Farmington.Agree their pay scale is incredible. Eckley is already retired. I heard a rumor Eckley was interested in the Ladue job, but probably a good thing for both parties he didn't get hired. Ladue does have a great pay scale and if Hamilton is a smart, resourceful man then he'll get to hire a very good staff because of the Ladue pay scale.Agree their pay scale is incredible. The problem is at many of the county schools, athletics isn't a big priority, and central office isn't concerned with you getting a great linebacker coach, but rather that they hire a foreign language teacher. You move out a ways and CO is more involved in extracurriculars and more willing to search and hire for those spots. I would guess a decent percentage of county schools have coaches who aren't in the high school and not even in the district. I don't know anything about Ladue, but if a class 5 school had a head football coach who was not only not in the building, but not even in the district, that would lead one to think football isn't a priority.I heard a rumor Eckley was interested in the Ladue job, but probably a good thing for both parties he didn't get hired. Attending a Ladue game is almost as intimidating as shopping at Plaza Frontenac......................just saying.I heard a rumor Eckley was interested in the Ladue job, but probably a good thing for both parties he didn't get hired.
