King James

one pic is a peaceful protest to highlight police brutality and social injustice. the other is highlighting said social injustice and said police brutality. a public execution not unlike lynching. little pink houses for you and me.

I've seen a lot of people pleading for peaceful protest on Twitter and I keep thinking about what we did to Kaep after he peacefully protested.

vilified and told to leave the country. sounds very...American?

I realize this is a touchy topic. I know cru66 and I have bantered over this before (and to his credit, with thoughtful and respectful dialogue).
I, for one, never felt that Kap didn’t have a message that needed to be heard, but I found his individualism during team events kind of tacky.
Imagine a player going out for the coin flip and hoisting a “Save The Whales” poster on the 50 yard line. I’m a rabid tree hugger, truth be told, and I would support the sentiment 100% but the kid would’ve been thinking about whales from the locker room at that point.
I agree with Kap’s intention to bring attention to a real issue, but I can’t support using his team (with or without their consent or awareness) to do it.
Sigh....I know we’ve been over this all before.
Thing is, we’re allowed to disagree and I respectfully acknowledge your right to an alternative perspective.
Maybe I need to cut and paste this on that “other” forum.

I didn't get quoted and put in my place...i hate you

Ah, my southwesterly friend, I wouldn’t know how to begin to.

Can you show me an example of what you had in mind? I’ll see what I can do.

my quotes are in this thread meathead. touchy subject? ya think? the same subject kaep was protesting? floyd taylor arbury just to name a few as of late. America got to witness the life of black man slowly sucked out of his body. touchy subject? well that's one way to put i guess. kaep was peacefully protesting a serious subject...touchy as you would opine. laughable to compare it oh lets say..save the whales? seriously? i wouldnt insult your intelligence cuz i know youre smarter than that. but dont fear my friend, you wont be next. the deadly circumstances of the 3 dead AA i mentioned will never happen to you. some of our brothers/sisters arent so....lets say....privileged.

Yes. CK is all about pubic safety and building awareness about police brutality. But in reality he's a hateful vengeful racist and given the chance his sick ideas will turn on him.

CK, is part of the most frivolous division and rioting in American history. We literally all agree that justice for Floyd is the number 1 priority.

I suggest Quack head down to a major protest so he can kneel in front of Antifa and the other violent radicals that want revenge for slavery, he surely had a great great great grandfather that owned slaves. He should pay for this.

Show your solidarity by bailing out criminals like CK. Bring cash, no checks.

I dare him to wear your Besty Ross sneakers. This is a symbol of America's irredeemable evilness and rioting and looting is answer to the false systemic racism theory.

Well done Ducky. Thanks for loving America. SMH. Scumbag

Well said Bull Connor. You are turning into as much of a stalker as the crying little “C” I had to put on ignore. Ignored.

Bull Connor my eye!. Blank Blank you, idiot.

The racist police are the only thing standing between you and the destruction of anything the criminals want.

No one in the stadiums where CK knelt is responsible for police brutality. America at large is not responsible for the death of Mr. Floyd. We all know George Floyd's name and we care. We all agree police brutality is wrong.

It's a 100% agreement that Mr. Floyd should get justice and police brutality does exist.

Normally when you burn and riot it's the responsibility of those that commit the crimes.

Now according to CKs of the world, Mr Floyds death is at the feet of all Americans. Did I say blank blank and the horse you rode in on?

Your party is a garbage heap of college-educated pseudo marxism studies nonsense.

Black police officers are dying protecting us now. White people are not an existential threat to black people.

But when you get down to specifics, some of which are among the CDC statistics, idiots like you don't care.

Yet, somehow all Americans are responsible for George Floyd's death.

Your welcome.

Well, it really needs to be over in the PC board. Maybe we can petition for a voluptuous Latina woman in shoulder pads forum while we’re at it?
Two things here Raw.
1) See what happened here? I tried to cut this thread off at the pass but deferred to your judgement.
2) Did I miss something on these voluptuous Latina women??

I was prepared to mount a defense of our police and our culture based on statistical criminal and law enforcement facts that support a totally different point of view from the one that seems to prevail on this forum today, but fact is we are all wrong. We are all sinners. There is only one way to be right:

“Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38

im guessing on more than one occasion that biblical passage was uttered in a church, standing right next to a slave auction block. the struggle has been real for centuries but now we have video capabilities, this makes all the difference.

We have always been sinful. Jesus is our only advocate. He is the only one that can bring justice. He is the only one who can heal this. Reason can’t heal it. Emotion can’t heal it. The hearts of men are hard. Pride and hate block repentance. Pray.
true justice isnt realized through religious beliefs or biblical icons. we're a nation of laws not an ideology. theres a separation of church and state for a reason. fleeing from religious persecution is why they set sail. the 14th and 15th amendment and the civil rights act werent granted by the churches or the love of jesus. give me the ballot box and keep religious ideologies out my government and its policies.

Keeping it out of the msg board would be good also.
I could be totally wrong but I thought our countries founders wanted separation of Church and State so they was free to practice religion without persecution from the state. I know everyone relates it to the 1st amendment but it’s not in there. It was in a letter Jefferson wrote to the Baptist.
Go Cards!

point taken. myself and others would also like to go a sporting event and not have politics of the national anthem injected into the festivities and ones patriotism or lack there of questioned. this thread wouldnt have come to pass if our DOD hadnt started paying off NFL organizations to have the players come out of the locker rooms in 2008 to participate so as to boost military recruiting. before that they stayed in the locker room. its a sad state of our nation that our elected officials who have the power to make law cant bring "liberty and justice for all" to all Americans of all races and ethnicities through the power they wield. nope...our sports figures have to step and try to fill the void left by the cowardly and incompetent. btw if we are going to inject the national anthem written by a slave owner into our sporting event, lets sing all 4 verses...not just the fuzzy warm verses. land of the free? gmafb...unless you were the heirling or the slave.

How dare you! People don't need a church.

Churches are not part of the social fabric. All those peaceful protestors just left Sunday school before they looted Target.

Ducks thinking interprets it as no God at all.

He doesn't need the church. It's more fun to watch them burn.

Prior to Trump people were not to keen on flag burning, the difference now is more LeBron James type thinking has been taught. They hate what the Flag represents.

EDIT for Slo-Mo
I think most people agree, that individual lived experiences are the most important things. Judge a man by what he does (character) and not the color of his skin. Someone famous said this. There's no question that racism exists, police brutality exists, and people suffer. There's nobility in overcoming this.

But when a nation loses the collective agreement that our National symbol represents something that is only evil, and not something good as well as terrible injustices.

Then I don't think you can have a nation. What's left are only separated groups, not unified by anything. I mean what do you replace it with?

Every ounce of good sense I have is telling me to not engage with you, and I understand this is a high school sports forum, but you're right there's people out there who hate what the flag represents. That's because it means something different to them because their experience of America is far different than yours appears to be. Doesn't mean they're less American than you though.
