Kim Anderson is the worst coach in Mizzou history.

Less than two years = "tenure." Bruce Jenner = "woman" and that white NAACP woman = "black" NAACP woman. I sense a trend.

The talent this year is worse than last year's. If KA cant recruit more talent, we will never know if he can coach. I'd rather have an ace recruiter/mediocre coach than vice versa. No one could coach these players to victory in the SEC. So if he's not a good recruiter, he needs to be let go.

Less than two years = "tenure."
I'll comment on this statement. Your other two statements are not worth getting into. You've seen Kim Anderson coach for 54 games. What in those 54 games leads you to believe he can be a competent D1 head coach?

Not much, but not the point I was making. 54 games can hardly be called by that term. If he wasn't going to get 3 years to fix the mess he inherited then there was no point in hiring him.

I'll certainly agree there was no point in hiring him.

Not that I really care Cow,

But why exactly do you think Kim could turn around this dumpster fire in such a short time?

Why not give a man a chance ? You are a fair man. What turns you off so much about him ?

I didn't expect him to have us in the tournament. I would've taken any sort of improvement. There has been exactly 0 improvement. In fact, the team is as bad as it's ever been.

Anderson isn't getting it done to this point but the coach before Norm Stewart, Bob Vanatta went 3-21 and 3-22 in his last 2 seasons so Anderson is definitely better than that.

I'm not a Missouri fan so take with as many grains of salt as you want. I don't think KA is a great coach but I don't think he is a bad coach either. He sure won a bunch when he was at CMSU and you don't do that if you can't coach. I don't much talent on Missouri right now. Puryear has some talent but about everyone else would have barely seen the floor on the teams Missouri had in the past 20-25 years.

I don't think he is ever going to have the program where it was a few years ago with Haith. I do think he will do nothing that will get Missouri in more trouble with the NCAA and if he can turn things around a little could make the job less toxic for the next coach that comes in.

Agreed Cornfrog, the talent is so abysmal theres no way these young players are gonna be able to improve to the point where KA can even sniff the .500 mark in the next 2-3 years. Its gonna take a miracle recruiting class or two to lift this ship off the ocean bottom.

There is a huge difference between D2 and D1, especially if you come from a powerhouse D2 school to a middle of the pack D1 school.

All you have to do at CMSU to win is get better players than your opponent has -- which is infinitely easier to do there than it is at Mizzou. All you need at CMSU to have more talent than your opponent is a couple D1 transfers and a bunch of JUCO kids who can't cut it at a D1 school.

Pulling off the same thing at Mizzou (getting better players than your opponent) is crazy difficult to do. That's why I would Never, under any circumstances hire a D2 coach into a Power 5 conference. Building a program at those two levels are two totally different animals.

That is exactly what I and everyone with any sense said when MU hired him. We nearly beat the recruiting angle to death.

KA is not only not recruiting better players than his competition, he's getting players that are, arguably, significantly worse.

And to complicate matters, he can't keep his most talented players around ... Hence, the dumpster fire.

The problem is that KA has had a hand in the program getting to this point, but far too many of his supporters don't recognize or want to admit that because they like they guy. The longer it takes them to come around, the longer it's going to take the school to dig out of this hole.

Any suggestions as to who they should try to hire? Seems like all of these "get good quick" guys either have sketchy inside tracks to AAU players or are sleezy.

I have a feeling theyll stick with KA for a couple more years due to his squeaky clean reputation. In the meantime theyre hoping he pulls off a miracle. At least he probably wont allow his team to go on strike in support of hungry minority protesters.

Kelvin Sampson. I'll wait for the response of "he's dirty" without the poster actually knowing what he was in trouble for.

He doesn't need to. His players are already on strike against him.

Idea: bring in a recently retired NBA player with lots of character. May be rough for a few years with x and o's, but I'll bet we would recruit better.. and honestly I don't know who that would even be, but just think it would be a solid idea. Without some credentials in Pro or Elite programs (like a UNC,KU,DUKE alum) seems like things don't get rolling really well.

Better off doing this as an assistant than a head coach

This is hilarious. What was Anderson supposed to say when he was hired? I guess he was supposed to say that they would be at the top of the SEC? Honestly, that's really dumb. It's okay to be a die hard Mizzou supporter. But you also need to employ a little common sense when evaluating. I am gladly an Anderson apologist. They don't have enough talent to win the Missouri Valley, let alone a major conference. No size. The lack of size is what really hurts them on the offensive and defensive end. Too much youth in the back court and front court. He inherited a dumpster fire. There is NO COACH that would fair much better with this collection of talent. A different coach might be able to recruit a different player, but more than likely no top recruits would come to Mizzou right now because Mizzou just isn't going to attract that type of coach.

Think about this. Mizzou's program was riding fairly high when Mike Anderson departed. Coming off an Elite 8 run. NCAA tourny appearances, 20 win seasons. There was a ton of returning talent. And all Mizzou could get was Frank Haith. That tells you all you need to know.

I think the more approriate title to this thread should be "Kim Anderson is coaching the worst talent ever assembled in the history of Mizzou"

The coach at CMSU is sure having his problems filling the KA shoes! Near .500 record after being pre-season top 25.
