Sources told ESPN that Ole Miss is finalizing a deal with Kiffin, currently in his third year at Florida Atlantic, to be the Rebels' next head coach. The school hopes to announce Kiffin's hiring as early as Saturday.

As a Mizzou fan, it won’t be anyone like Kiffin. 90%of MU fans won’t know the guy they hire and they won’t be happy with it. Not an attractive job

They need to either hire Willie Fritz, Blake Anderson, or Jeff Monken and let him run and rebuild the program with the understanding that 7-5 to 9-3 will be the norm with the occasional 11 win season, but we'll be consistent.

Or hire a Will Healy, Billy Napier, or Eli Drinkwitz with the understanding it's high risk/high reward.

I wish they hadn't fired Coach Odom. I have heard many things, but the single biggest mitigator to his success was a lack of staff consistency. It is hard to replace multiple guys on staff every year on an already new staff.

Coach Odom will land on his feet. Class act and great man in my estimation.

Mizzou podcast is reporting OC Jeff Scott from Clemson was in town yesterday. New name I haven't heard about.

Houston Nutt, Bob Stoops, Art Briles.... I don’t care. But someone who has already done it. Not someone who might be ok.

I talked about Houston Nutt to some folks; they thought I was crazy. He had competitive teams at Arky and Ole miss. Knows the SEC, south, etc. Last 2 at ole miss were a mess. Overall had a ton of 8+ win seasons. Very positive upbeat coach. Has been out for several years though.

Briles I guess TBD if he gets another chance. Very good coach.
