Kickoff Times Moved Back

They also used to have games on Tuesday nights the last week of the season. Play Friday and then turn around on Tuesday. Something about State Teacher Convention I believe.
District teacher meetings and no school on Thursday-Friday that week. In NEMO, most of those end of season games were on Wednesday. Also, seems like until at least the early 80s. most games started at 8PM. Am I wrong on that?

Just out of curiosity how many games did they play in a season? When did the season finish?
Remember, MSHSAA did not begin sanctioning a postseason playoff system until 1968.

The 1952 season began on Sept. 19, Carl Junction played nine games that season going 3-6 overall and 2-6 in Tri-County league play. There was a bye week on October 17. Finished the season November 21 at Lockwood, a 13-6 loss.

The 1953 season began on Sept. 18, Carl Junction played nine games going 5-4 overall and 4-4 in the the Tri-County. No bye week this season, season ended Nov. 13 in a 24-12 victory over Miller.

The 1954 season began on Sept. 17, Carl Junction played eight games going 2-4-2 overall and the Tri-County, season ended Nov. 3 at Miller, a 0-0 tie.

The 1955 season began Sept. 16, Carl Junction played eight games going 3-3-2 overall and the Tri-County, season ended Nov. 4 vs. Miller, a 52-14 victory.

Those who have been attending games for awhile may remember Labor Day weekend 2011. Weather will be very similar to that. After sunset should cool off pretty fast - SCRATCH THIS the front will not arrive until after midnight. Extreme humidity will bank against it Friday evening and night sorry to say.
Get ready for "swamp ball" tomorrow night sorry to say.

Saturday night will be better but no one is doing that. They are canceling softball games at least

Going to be significantly cooler on Saturday, could see some moving to Saturday night if they can get officials. Probably makes a couple kids eligible who skipped a practice too, lol.
Troy vs Wentzville Holt had been moved to a Saturday night 7 pm kick-off

Everything I could find on the 1954 game did not mention weather nor did any other games played across Southwest Missouri that night.

However, found this information about the 1951 matchup ... Carl Junction was scheduled to play Miller in the season finale on Friday November 2, 1951. According to several items published in the Springfield News-Leader, Miller had a football player killed in a motor vehicle accident and both schools agreed to postpone the game to Monday, November 5.
At least five games on that Friday, November 2 night in Southwest Missouri were postponed due to the weather and one report listed "five inches of snow."
The game was postponed to from Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 9 due to the weather and was postponed again from Friday, November 9 to Wednesday November 14 when it was finally played.
Carl Junction won the game 12-7 to complete an undefeated season at 7-0-1 and 6-0-1 in Tri-County League play and took a 15-game winning streak into the 1952 season.
