Ru, tell us more, I'm guessing this was Kansas City Barstow who are the defending class 3 state champions. It appears Springfield Kickapoo is on the right track to make a run in class 5 districts and beyond. Class 5 districts start in 4 weeks, Can Kickapoo play @ the top of their game for 4-6 weeks?

Hazelwood Central is on a low @ this time but has plenty of time to be on a high for districts. Webster Groves is red hot and appear to be ready for any team in Missouri except St. Louis Chaminade.

Class 5--Chaminade and everyone else--I have Webster in the final four instead of SLUH. I saw Webster dismantle SLUH last Friday evening. Coach Claggett will have a hard time convincing his SLUH team that the Bills can defeat the Statesmen even on their home court in 5 weeks.

Class 4 --Sikeston is undefeated @ 16-0---Cape Central is on a roll as well--This winner should roll into the final four in Columbia in 6 weeks. Cape Central plays Sikeston @ home on Feb.12 for the top seed in district 1.

Class 3--It's still Kansas City Barstow and Columbia Father Tolton making claims for the title.

Class 2 Bloomfield out of district 1- appears to be playing great basketball @ the right time. If they can stay hot for 3-5 weeks, they have a shot to cut down the nets in Columbia.

Class 1 --Who's hot in 3-5 weeks can win it all

You are correct metro. it was KC Barstow. Very talented team. Kickapoo has been playing great basketball. They did hit some what of a "lull" a couple of weeks ago in the T of C when they were handed their only 2 losses to date. Those 2 losses came to a couple of great teams. The game against Sierra Canyon was one of the worst outings for the Chiefs this season. They just could not hit a basket. And I am not talking about contested shots I am talking about wide open looks. I am not saying K-Poo would have won that game but it was much closer than the score showed. The same against Christ the King. Kickapoo could have won that game but again "terrible" FG% in that one as well.

With 7 games left on their schedule before districts they should breeze through. Come District play, It will take quite an upset for the Chiefs to not make the final 4. They should have Lee's Summit waiting for them at that point. That has the making for a great game. If K-Poo can get past the Tigers and play Chaminade in the finals I can guarantee you one thing, The Red Devils will have to earn the Title.

Class 4 - Although I do believe Sikeston has what it takes to win, we have a couple of teams down this way that would love to rain on their parade. that would be Bolivar and Rolla.

Class 3 - This is a toss up, Father Tolton or Barstow. I do believe there is a sleeper and 3rd contender in this class and that is Fair Grove. Kyle Cavanaugh is an amazing talent for this team. Scored his 1000 point early in the season. they are worth keeping an eye on

Class 2 - Hartville. They have 4 losses this season but they are to teams like class 4 # 3 Lafayette and Class 5 #10 Nixa.

Class 1 - My pick would be Walnut Grove. Although they suffered their first loss of the season it was to a very good Class 3 Fair Grove.

Does anyone else have thoughts. I would love to hear who is hot in your area.

I'm up in NWMO and teams to watch up here are:
Class 4: Lafayette (St. Joe) they have been playing good ball all year. I don't see anyone getting in their way after last year. Expect them to be at the Final 4.
Class 3: Maryville and Chillicothe are each playing good basketball right now. Each team having knocked off a ranked Lafayette County team at the Cameron Tournament. But it all boils down to Barstow and Tolton. Right now I pick Barstow in that final.
Class 2: Really no strong contenders for state this year. Mid Buchanan hasn't looked great this year. And I don't think a young Penney squad can beat Sacred Heart of they get there.
Class 1: this is where the best teams play. Stanberry and Winston, winner of that quarterfinal I believe has a fantastic shot at winning state in Class 1. My pick right now is Stanberry. They look unstoppable right now.
