"He passed peacefully surrounded by the people he loved most, including his three daughters and longtime partner, as some of his favorite songs played in the background, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama' and Van Morrison's 'Leaves Falling Down.'"
Minnesota Vikings in 1977.

During his time in Oakland, Stabler, nicknamed “The Snake,” was a four-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1974, when he led the league in touchdown passes with 26.

Amazing the double standard the older generation has for players of today. Stabler was a bar junkie and cool for it. Now a player goes out the night before a game and they're immature.

Back in the day we did not have 24 hour news you had 30 minutes of local and 30 minutes of national and well still 60 minutes. They just did not bother themselves with Athletes personal lives. Look at the politicians back in the day, You did not talk about or ask question them about their personal lives as compared to today. There was nobody digging up dirt on them. Now with 24 hour news cycle needed to be fulfilled we worry ourselves now more about did Brady know about air gate?

Big difference now and then. Then they didn't go to a bar and get drunk and beat up a girl, they went to the bar got drunk and laid her (consensually).
