Kearney 48 Belton 7 Final

Without the 75+ yards of penalties for Kearney, it might be worse. Belton has a good running back. QB good. They just can't stop the Kearney offense. But the Kearney offense is "not as good as the last couple of years" according to some on here. Okay...sure. Kearney has some trickster posters on here.

Watch the emergence of JR WR Jess Davis...............fast becoming every bit the weapon his older brother who was lost for the season middle of last year (and was extremely costly to K's cause in 2014) and then some. I finally got to see this offense in person last week but still want to see them at full strength vs. a good defense.

They have so many points of attack..they have made decent defenses look bad this year.

I agree about the offense BUT Belton does not not not have a good D this year.

Do you think Kearney can Webb City if they meet up at the Dome?
There are a couple of things I've seen that concern me about Kearney but think it would be a very, very fun atmosphere (and help those somewhat anemic recent turnout numbers) in the Dome!

If you look at the way MSHSAA setup the brackets...... It could be a Kearney vs Webb City. I was talking a hardcore Webb City fan and he believes that MSHSAA did the brackets this way on purpose with the hopes of Kearney victory of Webb City in the Finals!

While I do think MSHSAA cares very much who plays in the finals, I do not think they really care who wins. They want butts in seats.

I have to agree with beatwriter on this one............MSHSAA has zero interest in who wins any of the games. NOW let me let this one out........I got to witness the second half of the Odessa-Harrisonville game at work tonight and would definitely NOT sleep on those Wildcats. They have a very good OLine and a very nice stable of backs and were they ever on fire vs. a strong C3 Dome contender! Not saying Webb would lose but think if the two are fortunate to hook up in the quarters it won't be the blowout that has happened in other recent years.

Just to get Toppy going, "Giving someone false hope hurts worse than telling them the truth"

You will and can not get me going.....................I have some concerns about Kearney this year particularly something they could not control before the season: the schedule. Unfortunately the Small Six is really down this year and Liberty is a shadow of its former self. Again were I a "webbie" I would pay attention to what is going on in HVille.

Reactions: Kearney Bulldog
LOVE seeing this and what memories it brings back especially those very first years under Skillman! To this day watching Yale Van Dyne in the 1986 playoffs at Center vs. O'Hara (still get chills thinking about how cold that game was) rates as perhaps my #1 memory of any playoff game and that, given recent history, is a MOUTHFUL.

I really don't know where Kearney's offense compares but I know they beat St Joe Central by 40 who in turn beat Blue Springs by 18. Also Belton lost by a TD to Ray-Pec earlier this year. If Kearney was class 6 they would probably be favorite to win that district right now.

Now having seen them in person this year I can say definitely this offense is as dynamic as any I've seen since that 2003 machine but is, of course, nowhere close to that level. The only big caveat with it is I wish they would face a top defense but those teams (Fort O-Staley) are no longer on their slate.

If k has a great passing game, its gonna hit Webb where the D aint so hot. IMO, of course. Its gonna get a lot more exiting in a few weeks. Cant wait!

What surprised me was the use of the 3star Cale Garrett on offense. I had no idea they would use him like that on offense...along with their other points of attack. It is a fast paced offense. They are facing essentially the same level of defense they did last year--if you look at the numbers, and scoring 14 more points a game. Much improved and more dynamic than the past two years.
