Who are "they" and what, exactly, are you implying?Well...they do worship a murderous outlaw from the 1800s up there, don't they?
This sounds like a man who believes the civil war was about states rights. Well Mr.Cardsfan what was the biggest states rights issue during and after the civil war? Slavery. All I'm seeing is some country bumkin who can't read a book or accept his team lost and will always lose.
That's like holding mass amounts of guns in the present day saying "this is for when the government tries to take my guns." Well buck-o, the feds have drones and bigger boom boom sticks. They can drop the sun if they wanted to.
NERD ALERT!!!“History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books—books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. As Napoleon once said, 'What is history, but a fable agreed upon?
When you were Booster Club president did any of your teams win state? didn't think so, I was three times the president you were in half the time.NERD ALERT!!!
Someone needs to claim "Debunked" as their new thingYou are a victim of James' contemporary local paper propaganda, most of which he himself created through his correspondence with a fellow Confederate-sympathizing newspaper editor in the area. He would even create his own "press releases" that exaggerated some pretty pointless details (like height) and leave them with witnesses of his crimes. He was really good at media manipulation.
"...After the deadly heist, an influential pro-Confederate newspaper editor in Missouri, John Newman Edwards, befriended Jesse and went on to promote the former bushwhacker as a hero and defiant Southern patriot of the Reconstruction era. James himself wrote letters to newspapers in which he defended his actions. Through his articles and editorials, Edwards was responsible for helping to create the mythology of Jesse James as a Robin Hood figure who robbed the rich to give to the poor—a myth historians have debunked" (https://www.history.com/news/7-things-you-might-not-know-about-jesse-james).
There is zero actual evidence that he ever gave away the money he stole to the poor or anyone other than his fellow gang members when splitting the spoils. None.
Also, a private detective agency (the Pinkertons), not the government, threw the bomb in his mother's house that took part of her arm and killed his half-brother. They thought he was in there because a spy had misinformed them that he was, and they were trying to flush him out.
You are free to live in fantasy-land if you choose, but please do not try to debate me with already-debunked information from the FaceBook "South's gonna Rise Again" friend group page.
Easy there, bullit. My doc only captures ONE year of my over THIRTY year presidency. Ampipe won state SEVERAL TIMES since 1983. But that is irrelevant. I was the Booster Club PRESIDENT!! NOT the head coach. While part of duties are to bring in quality head coaches (I did) my PRIMARY duties are MAKING MONEY!!! I made LOTS of people in Ampipe VERY rich. All legally, of course. NICE TRY BOZO!!!When you were Booster Club president did any of your teams win state? didn't think so, I was three times the president you were in half the time.
I’ll quote a bad author if the quote is good.“History is always written by the winners. When two cultures clash, the loser is obliterated, and the winner writes the history books—books which glorify their own cause and disparage the conquered foe. Hey yo! Now THIS is a good idea!!! Debunked is currently available as well!!!Someone needs to claim "Debunked" as their new thing

Well at least now we know who and what YOU are. Noted. They know exactly who they are; they’re them.
If you make enough money everything else can be bought to bring the success. 101 of boostering...Easy there, bullit. My doc only captures ONE year of my over THIRTY year presidency. As opposed to hijacking a high school football thread and using it to trash a whole community. Hope you are proud of yourself. That is the most ignorant thing (not to mention utterly non sequitur) I've read on here in quite a while, and that's saying something. The dude stole people's money and murdered other humans. What about that is worthy of being idolized?
This thread went from discussing Kearney vs. Savannah to politics openly trashing the aforementioned community where the Jesse James home and farm reside plus the fesitval every September. Much as Joey gets on many nerves it went personal there, too.I did not realize that Jesse James has anything to do with any school's ball club.
I am gonna confess I never have been a big Jesse James fan and tend to respect all points of view BUT AGAIN doesn't that belong on the Political forum instead of hijacking the Football one where I among others are preparing to discuss this huge District final? Why r14veer chose to go there only he knows but there are certain things one cannot "un-say". Certainly won't waste my time ever chatting about FB with him again.I aint no Kearney Fanboy but if you trash them about anything other than football im prolly gonna jump in, Especially jesse
i mean im just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for someone to break the ice so we can talk FBI am gonna confess I never have been a big Jesse James fan and tend to respect all points of view BUT AGAIN doesn't that belong on the Political forum instead of hijacking the Football one where I among others are preparing to discuss this huge District final? I rewatched GV PC yesterday and made myself feel way better about the game the defense from that week 3 game is so much better now, Greco is back on the field at WR, having him and Olah at the same time hasnt happened alot this year. Going to be a fun one in the Valley Friday Night
Gathering all my notes plus waiting for most of the NWCMO players to make picks then will roll it out.I am waiting sir!!! lol

Make no mistake none of this "offends" this Kearney grad and resident but it does (bleep) me off. If someone came on here trashing other communities and their traditions I would be defending just as vigorously. It is absolutely uncalled for..................

I concede context (been very guilty of it myself) when posting on a message board can be hard to read but yes (goes for Cards too) this kind of stuff belongs on the Political Crap board. Always appreciate when someone takes the time to write something genuine like this all good and perhaps I over-reacted context there is what has happened here over the years.I'm not going to pretend that I don't still think it's a little weird to venerate that guy, but that doesn't mean I'm trashing the community or its traditions; I would call it having an opinion, which I think is still okay. People in the community can celebrate whoever they want, however they want, and I'm sure they'll continue to do so without my or anybody else's say so. Heck, the people in Northfield, Minnesota have had a festival for 75 years called the "Defeat of Jesse James Days" that celebrates the town coming together to stand up to and defeat the James-Younger gang's attempted bank robbery, so I'm sure people in Missouri have their own opinions on that.
I thought that my first comment was said in an obviously hyperbolic and dryly humorous way that indicated good-natured ribbing aimed at Joey rather than aimed at disparaging a community. But then I got on the history kick because that other guy called me a government bootlicker and needed a history lesson that unfortunately highjacked the thread and would have been better done on the political crap board. I also thought it was obvious, when I said the "they, them, they're them" comment to you, that I was making a goofy, vague comment that couldn't possibly be taken to have any meaning whatsoever, not realizing that you were genuinely angry, so my mistake, and I apologize for that.
