They haven't won squat in 29 years and they have been worse than a triple a team for most of that time, so I think they have a right to enjoy their one season in the sun.

After all 2043 is a long ways off......

This year, KC's AAA team (Omaha Storm Chasers) just won the triple a championship for the third time in four years. So... Look out!

Maybe they'll draw better than 23rd next year in attendance. Then again being in contention this year really didn't help, so why would it be any different next year.

They'll be higher b/c of season tickets. Ticket sales tend to lag performance a bit. Royals will draw hundreds of thousands more next year.

It's not like they lead the division all year, either.
