Blue Springs at Lee's Summit - The Wildcats looking to break a two game losing streak against a surprising LS team. Both teams coming off close losses....LS 14-7 to Staley and BS 28-27 in OT to LSN.

Lee's Summit West at Rock Bridge - LSW tried to maintain a perfect record and not look ahead to the week 5 game against Staley. Rock Bridge comes in at 2-1 and opened the season with an impressive win over Rockhurst.

Liberty at Liberty North - The Bluejays have rebounded from the disappointing opening loss to Lee's Summit with wins over Park Hill and Truman. Liberty North has lost to Park Hill last week and LSN in week 1. Their only win is over Truman....but this is a rivalry game at Liberty North so anything can happen imo.

NKC at Fort Osage - It's the Indians turn to try to slow down NKC rb Clyde Price who has putting up eye popping numbers through the first three games. This is a match-up of two state ranked teams for the first time ever in this series.

Park Hill at Lee's Summit North - Park Hill has had a disappointing start to the season but are coming off a win over Liberty North last week. LSN will try to avoid a letdown after probably the biggest win in school history over Blue Springs last week.

Platte County at Grain Valley - Interesting matchup between two 2-1 teams both coming off losses last week. Platte County has played the tougher schedule to date..but how do the strengths of these teams matchup?

Rockhurst plays an intriguing bi-state schedule this year.

Before they drive up to Miege, the Hawklets host a perennially stout, and multi state champion BV Tiger team from the KS side of the line. BV lost their opener to KS 5A champion Aquinas, but took down KS 6A champ BV North in their next game. Patty cake BV SW is up next before the Rock game.

The game over in StL Co at CBC s/b a fun one, as well.

DeSmet, in my opinion, is the team to watch this year in C6. CBC, though, is putting up some eye-popping offensive numbers. Not sure anyone will ever slow them down in 2018..........

I think I would also put Kirkwood up there with Desmet and CBC. Could be three years in a row for St Louis in C6.

I was very impressed with LSN on Friday. Great size and their speed was second to none. I still think the issue for them will be the lack of passing. I wish Mozee all the best this year.

The era of Blue Springs dominance is coming to an end. The Lee's Summit schools are starting to absorb the better athletes coming up. Call it recruiting or call it the way of the jungle, but long term, the Lee's Summit schools will continue to rise. However, I think B.S. will squeak by with a win this week.

Liberty at Liberty North is a great novelty game that really only matter to the people in Liberty. But there will be 8,000 to 10,000+ at the game like usual with a great football atmosphere.

Fort will kill NKC, and establish themselves as it goes forward as the team to beat, along with Staley.

Lee's Summit North will be too much speed for PH to handle.

Platte County will kill GV, and put up at least 35 on them.

St Joe MO vs Harry... that's the game of the week.

Lets see how the next 5 years go before we hand the reins over to LS. Is there more parity in KC and C6, you bet but I am not ready to turn it over just yet.

Lees Sum is having a good year. I saw LSW try to lose to Fort. The offensive play caller is in love with creativity. Looked like a big Chinese fire drill, but somehow Fort snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
Lees Summit gets beat by bad teams but seems to play well versus the frontrunners.

I am planning to attend Staley at LS West Week 5 and LS West at LS North Week 6. I expect to go right from work as both should be packed houses...........and great games!

Carl Junction beat Webb City one time. Doesn't mean Carl Junction > Webb City. Wait until LSN beats Blue Springs a few more times before you get too excited.

Lees Summit West 3-0. Lees Summit North 3-0 . Lees Summit 2-1 Blue Springs 1-2. Blue Springs south 0-3.

So for the sake of you understanding what that means:

Lees Summit: 8 wins 1 loss

Blue Springs Schools 1 win 5 losses

Understand? Now maybe BS schools cam win more than one game before you get your panties in a bunch? (Mic drop)

Don't know GV 2018 and won't see them in person until Week 7 but did see Platte County albeit in a weather altered environment and this Friday should be a lot like Week 1: hot with no chance of rain. This year's Pirates look a bit undersized compared to the past two years but the weapons are definitely there on offense. It is the other side of the ball that concerns me plus they have so many playing both sides of the ball. In other words not gonna predict this one BUT will say I already like this Suburban Small Seven lots more than years past.

Agreed. Smithville and Grain Valley have already made the conf. more competitive.

Still feel for the past 3 years it’s went Belton>GV>Smithville so the competitiveness was still there at the top but the lower teams (Raytown South, Grandview, Winnetonka) were average- below average

You're correct on the bottom tier. The anguish those coaches at RS, Grand and Winn. feel, in just fielding a team is a spectacular feat.
NKC this year is a testament to God only knows how much difficulty to be where they are at this point.
Belton has issues as well, but at very least there's a chance in continuity.

Completely forgot about NKC and it’s surge this year so far and what will continue. In regards to Belton, not the same Belton team of past lost lots of 2 and even 3+ year starters the past two season so they’re young. Assuming their hoping to rebuild for another strong run in the next couple years... will have to wait and see. Interesting matchup for them with Cross-town Rival Raypec this week.

NKC, they have a back.
RayPec better not underestimate them.

Lee's Scummit > Blew Springs?

I dunno bout that, Henry.
This is like a direct quote from my childhood.

The Lee's Summit schools (particularly North) have always had athletes, just not good coaching. Now all three schools have good coaching. It should produce some good, good games and hopefully no more decades of defeat to Blue Springs.

If you would check your spelling first (cam win), that mic drop may look a little more intelligent.

LSW has never lacked in the coaching department. Started 0-7 their first year of existence haven't really looked back since (had a hiccup here and there but even the top programs in America do that).

Well, perhaps I should proofread your recent commentary, hmm?

"I would hope so. Even the 85 Bears. Aren't those guys in their 50s and 60s by now?" "Even the 85 Bears." is a sentence? And that was just the first post I looked out. Let's play, shall we?

Absolutely agree. Was more of a reference to the other two. West has been a powerhouse since the postseason of their first season.

I remember reading about that team. I think they only had juniors and sophomores and won their first game of the season on the first night of district play and proceeded to win three more before being eliminated. I remember thinking that coaching staff had to have done a heck of a job considering no senior leadership, or senior bodies, on the field.
That staff went on to win three state titles and lost to Staley in the semis in a four overtime thriller that I drove three hours to watch and will always be glad I did.

Couple of things from that West-Staley classic. Two West players who played their last high school game that night are currently playing ball in Phoenix. Evan Boehm with the Cardinals and Shaq Harrison with the Suns. Shaq's brother passed on a Nebraska FB scholarship to sign with the Brewers. He went to the Marlins in the Christian Yelich trade, was in AA this year, and will join the other two in Phoenix this fall while playing in the Arizona Fall League.

The other is while West QB played his last HS game in triple overtime, his brother Jake was playing LB for Iowa State in their upset 2 OT win over #2-ranked Oklahoma State.

My bad, I thought it was four overtimes. Anyway a hell of a game. And, I think Boehm is now with the Rams..

Nope, its my bad. It was four OTs. Game was tied at 49 in regulation and ended up 76-70. Only way that happens is 4 OT. Plus you are right Boehm is with the Rams now. I missed that move.
