Now they say it was a 4.0 15 miles deep and was felt as far away as St.Louis and Memphis. It came right before we started getting some rain and now a little thunder so everybody is nervous about that being another one. My daughter said her boys got their blankets and pillows and said they will sleep on mom and dad's bedroom floor tonight!Had a boom and a pretty good shake. They say it was a 3.7 miles SE of Williamsville which makes it about 15 miles north of P.B. where Black River and the RR runs under 67 highway. I have never felt one like that!
This was no where the BIG ONE he predicted. If that ever happens around here much of SEMO will be uninhabitable for a very long time. All the farmland and the towns south and east of P.B. will turn to mush. Once you get here and to the the north and west there's lot more rock in the ground but even then it would be a MAJOR disaster with no power, phone service, water or sewers for many, many miles around. I hope even my grand kids never have endure that! The New Madrid fault finally raising it's ugly head 30 years late?
The day Iben Browning predicted the big one would rock our world
A climatologist predicted that our earthquake alley had a 50-50 chance for a big one on Dec. 3, 1990, a megaquake maybe on the order of the horrific seismic joltswww.stltoday.com
I know that. I was just throwing out some BS for fun. I will never forget the hysteria and panic back then I never bought in we had a run backward Mississippi party that day...... I just threw that link out cause I thought it would be funny. This was no where the BIG ONE he predicted. If that ever happens around here much of SEMO will be uninhabitable for a very long time.
