So why were they chanting "jews will not replace us" and other such crap if they were only there to protest the removal of the statue? I agree with the judge that such things should not be taken down but that ain't why the NEO Nazi group was there.

What is inherently wrong there? Do YOU know EXACTLY how many people were there? Do you know how many of that total were racist protesters? Or are you just parroting a narrative that lines up with your biases?

I saw the pictures on TV like the rest of you and it appeared there were more folks protesting something besides taking down the statue than there were actually there for that purpose, but I sure didn't count em all.

Yeah and outrage sells subscriptions, gets viewers, and causes people to click on links. Of COURSE the news would present the narrative that people like you already believe, you live in your echo chamber and never look for extra information, you just want your biases confirmed.

There were tons of people there, and yeah a few of them were racist. In the same vein, there were liberal extremists there as well. The majority weren't there to be violent or bigoted, but covering a peaceful protest isn't good for the media.
