He's back! The secret weapon will be coaching 3rd again and McGee added to coaching staff. Now if they just figure out where the real problem is. Doesn't matter who is coaching until they get better players on the roster, but is a step in the right direction.

Translation...MM, either you listen or Jose here is gonna move one spot closer to the dugout steps.

Seriously though, glad to see him back. Can't imagine the defense and base running won't improve immediately. I'd say this staff shake up is writing on the wall for MM though. Dude is going to have to listen. Just sit back, look pretty, and leave the real decisions to those that have been hired (hopefully Hickey is next) to help. Put your really mad face on and come out of the dugout to protect players when they argue with umpires. And take the lineup card out. Oh yeah, and do all the commercials.

McGee is going to teach Grichuk how to whiff at the low inside pitch instead of just the low outside pitch. K to all fields.

Willie is still the only MLBer I have seen who actually fell for the fake pick off throw to third, pick them off first trick. Multiple times.

Also the only guy I've ever seen hit an intention ball...and also hit a pitch for a base hit after it hit the ground. Dude was just flat out entertaining.

E.T. was very popular. As nuts as he drove me at times, he was incredible going first to third.
He, Coleman, and Ozzie were pretty cray cray for opponents to deal with.

If you were going to walk Willie you had to throw it in the dugout and sometimes that didn't even do it. He might be the only guy to win a couple batting titles and never hit a curve ball. At least not many of them. I never understood why anyone ever threw him a fastball he could reach. As Mike would say, "that's like trying to sneak the sun by the rooster". Guy could look ugly as heck on any off speed but he didn't miss many fastballs.

So, so true. If you threw a breaking ball in the dirt at his feet he swung every freakin time.

To be fair, he did hit that one in the dirt. If memory serves, it was a big 12-6'er.
Back in those days you could get away at swinging at bad pitches because guys like Willie and Manny Sanguillan still hit .290 to .300 not .240 to .250
