This game seems deserving of it's own thread and I'm curious about everyones take on it!

Statistically the teams are pretty even - they both score a lot (just in different ways) and hold their opponents to few. Carthage's stats may be skewed a bit by not having played Nixa yet. Joplin gave up a lot more points to Webb City. Otherwise their defense has been on par with Carthage. Carthage has functionally shut out every team except Webb City.

Joplin6042.716.526.2

Joplin's offense to me seems a bit more dynamic, Wright can be elusive and make nothing into something while under pressure and on the move. Carthage defense is stout but really hasn't seen anything like this so far. Just getting pressure on Wright won't be enough - they'll have to get there lightning fast and get him on the ground and keep the targets covered up. The offense for Carthage is somewhat predictable but even so no one has been able to stop it. The O line has been potent at creating opportunities for these guys to do their thing.

Then there is the Moore situation. Whether or not he plays for Carthage he will NOT be an available target for Wright. However I was told by a carthage football parent that he IS going to play this Friday at Joplin. If that is correct it may create a few more tools in the play chest if Joplin is able to disrupt the run plays Carthage will likely want to utilize.

It's hard to guess how this will go, I could see it going for either team which is exactly the type of HS game I love. May be one of those games where you just need to be the one with the ball in the final minute...seems like a familiar story. Junge is a classic HS venue and I'm sure the atmosphere as well as the game will be fantastic regardless who comes out on top - I believe it's homecoming as well. If the eagles win and want to plant a flag on their own field I'm quite confident no one will make a stink about it! Either way I hope to see a nice "good game" lineup afterwards like we saw between Webb and Carthage a few weeks ago.

I was also told by a Carthage parent that Moore is playing. I would advise Joplin to watch the tape of the Carthage CJ game as Carthage didn't score until the last part of the 3rd quarter.

I prefer the voice and experience of Jim Taylor (Carthage stream) but in terms of video and production quality the JETHD will be much better as they run a multi camera setup with dedicated operators where Carthage will have just one camera on a tripod that won't always be pointed at the right part of the field and it may cut out occasionally.

Carthage is a better more physical team than Joplin . I don't see how Joplin gets many stops ....that being said Joplin has the most balanced offense you will ever see , especially when Wright decides to run (which imo Joplin doesn't do enough) . Carthage's secondary is the only weak spot of their d so for Joplin to score enough points to keep up they will have to throw alot and that's gonna be tough without Moore . I'll take Carthage 42-35

Next maybe nxt level media will also stream the game in 4k . Their broadcasters are trash but beautiful picture quality . I watch them on mute most of the time lol. Jim Taylor is an excellent broadcaster for Carthage.. he called Webb city for at least a decade before going to Carthage

The Moore situation kinda baffles me to be honest . Played for Carthage last year ...Joplin this year ...his mother passed away mid season and now he's back with Carthage . I'm sorta surprised he's allowed to switch teams mid season and be allowed to play but given the circumstances I get it . I've just never seen anything like it . He's a great football player and I wish him the best tho .

Carthage's starting D is giving up an avg of like 3.5ppg. Whoever comes out with the most energy will win...neither team can start out flat and expect to come back.

I thought it was weird too and don't know the details, just my theory is maybe he is good friends with Wright (who also has Carthage ties). Maybe Wright talks him into coming to play with him and mom says sure why not, I'll take one for the team and move (it's not very far at all) so you can play with your friend. I mean as a WR who better in the area to play with than Wright?

Then horribly the mom passes away so he has to come back here. Carthage maybe could have protested the eligibility in Joplin but elected not to fight that battle. Not like he was dodging disciplinary action or something.

Carthage has had Joplin's number. Mostly because they have been a much more physical team than Joplin. Joplin's defense is a lot more physical this year than in years past, so I think Carthage will have a harder time running against them this year. But, they'll get their yards.
If Moore plays, look for them to throw up some jump balls to him. Nixa was able to hang with Joplin by doing just that. Joplin stopped their run game, but their tall WR must have had 200 yards receiving on jump balls and Moore is like 6'-5". I hope Joplin gives Fowler some help this time.

I think Carthage has managed Joplin the last few years at least largely due to their defense and Joplin's lack of. The exception being the state runner up Tash/Davis/Westmoreland team was just too much but Carthage kept up with them in a scoring race that came up a point short on that 2pt attempt. A game I still hear Carthage people talking about as one of their favorites ever even though it ended up a loss.

This year Joplin seems to have as much offensive power as ever and defense is markedly improved.

I heard All Wright is in Joplin's secondary.. I believe he is 6'-3'.. hopefully they match those 2 up.. Fowler got burned at Ozark as well...which set Ozark up to their one and only score

Looks like NXT has this as a game of the week so I assume that means they will stream it as well but their website is a bit confusing and the schedule shows no upcoming events. In their 'on demand' page looks like they cover some Jr High games as well which is cool but no schedule that I can find and there is no audio on any of the past games or at least none that I clicked on.

I keep hearing about this media company but don't really understand what they are. Looks like they cover Joplin, WC, Carthage, Neosho and Seneca. But NOT Carl Junction oddly enough. When you google it you get an address that looks like an apartment. Is it just a couple guys that do it for fun? If the goofy guy chewing gum while interviewing the kids is the game commentator I see why you watch on mute, lol.

Davis was the only player that was too much for Carthage. I don't see Joplin with anyone near his level although I think they will win tomorrow as much as I hate to say it.

NXT level is based out of Joplin..but 2 of the commenter's are Webb City and the other is a 2019 Joplin football player a believe.

They mostly follow Joplin . They somewhat cover Webb , Carthage , Neosho and Seneca . Idk why they don't follow CJ ...seems odd to me . They are most certainly Joplin homers . They have billboards all over the place but I don't understand how they make money bc most of their FB posts get almost no comments and very little views .

That being said ...they have some very nice equipment and stream quality is very good . Just don't expect quality game calling lol

Westmoreland and davis were worth 2 tds both sides of the ball. tash didnt hurt the cause either. i think joplin loses tomorrow. if not it will be wrights legs that change the game.

It's a father/son team that started the company. The father was a Joplin graduate, 1987 I think. But, the son, who does most of the play calling, was a graduate of Webb City and played for them.

I have no idea either how they could possibly be making money providing amateur hit and miss coverage of a small assortment of local schools that are already covered by other established media partners, but they are getting money from somewhere for a decent payroll.

I'm hearing a fair number of Webb City fans may be opting to head over to Junge tonight vs making the trip to Nixa. The question is who, if anyone, do they root for?
