only 1 national championship in 2012. I guess I would be happy with 1 championship every 6 or 7 years.

Why wasnt Kentucky called for a flagrant foul?

When the ball was going out of bounds and the wildcat slapped the crap out of the badger, why no flagrant one? For a few minutes there it looked like CBS took over the officiating to ensure a Duke-Kentuck final
The badgers really showed some guts to overcome...

Re: Why wasnt Kentucky called for a flagrant foul?

Collegiate Officiating is a joke........it's a foul fest on the court. How do you miss that shot clock violation? Give Kentucky credit, they took the loss with class..........some players wouldn't shake hands and of course Andrew Harrison said it all in his post game interview. Can your imagine if Kaminsky had made those comments about Harrison?

Re: Why wasnt Kentucky called for a flagrant foul?

Judging by the NBA draft and the success of his players in the pros, he gets really good basketball players.

I think the criticism that he only gets athletes is silly. Look at how consistently good his teams are defensively. That's coaching.

Champagne toast.....

Somewhere Robert Montgomery Knight, Quin Buckner, Scott May, and Kent Benson are drinking champagne with Mercury Morris and Don Shula.

Yes..he get's really good players..................

but I think those same players if they played at another school still would go to the NBA and have success. Is it Calipari developing them? Kaminsky didn't really start until he was a junior, he developed under the Wisconsin coaching staff, a 3 star recruit coming out of high school who became the D-1 player of the year.

Re: Yes..he get's really good players..................

Hard to compare Kaminsky to a lot of the Kentucky guys because he only has the kids for 1-2 years.

Also lets face it a kid like Frank isn't getting in at UK.

I think they are great athletes with good basketball ability.

Coach K has been at Duke 35 years and has 4 national titles... 1 every almost 9 years! So I would take 1 every 6-7 years indeed. You need to be really good and have some luck to win it all! I have spoke to and listened to Coach Cal and he loves his kids and makes them a better player and more importantly a better person no matter the years he has them. They go to class, make great grades and play basketball the right way. Enough said.

He might want to school them on post game interviews and show some class after a loss other than just walking off the court. Enough said.

Coach Cal? He met Coach Ryan after the game and wished him well. You must have been Jumping for joy they lost instead of watching the post game.

I'll take a clean 1 in 9 over a dirty 1 in whatever any day. Laughing at your great grades statement. Like you know.

I guess he must have started caring when he got to Kentucky. Because it doesn't look like he did at UMASS or Memphis.

The Harrison kid made comments under his breathe during several of the questions. His brother laughed when he disrespected Kaminsky. Cal had to be proud of da boyz.

Take a walk into the Lounge at UK and you will see hanging on the wall each player with their G.P.A with it. I think it is funny you setting here bashing on 18-19 year old kids. Now that is funny.

He did do that and did personally call Kaminsky to apologize and Kaminsky accepted. Done deal but you want to drag it on. I am sure Coach Cal did have a talk with the young man about handling things better. Again, they are 18-19 year old kids. They make mistakes. Again, they learn from it and grow from it and become a better person..... Which is exactly what any coaches philosophy be. Bud Lathrop once told me he would never leave a kid behind who was late! Why? He said if you can look the kid in the eye and tell him you never been late yourself, then you can leave the kid! Same here... If you never have made a mistake in your life, bust on the kid all you want..

We all know, but apparently Hangman doesn't....And by the way, Calipari said there would be no discipline towards Harrison.

Obvious it would be 100 times worse because it would reversed! My point is this.... Rather you are 19 (Harrison) or 59 (coach Ryan), you can say some things right after a tough loss that you put everything into! Every coach has their own way of doing things and everyone is right! Respect what each does and the players the way they do it. Every coach should want to make a player better no matter if they have them for 1 year or 4/5.

So in other words, say whatever the hell you want to, because there will be no ramifications...Man that's great. Kids and young adults are already running amok and Hangman is promoting it. Awesome!

You make me laugh Nut!!!! No where did I say that I condone it.. I would not call Coach Ryan a young adult either. I said they all make mistakes. Learn from it, fix it and move on... Do not grow up and be a Nut! lol..

I'm glad I could entertain you Hangman. I wasn't referring to Coach Ryan. I was talking about the Harrison kid. IMO, the best learning tool is discipline. So with your earlier example, if a kid was late for the bus, I would leave him. Chances are he wouldn't be late again....

Kids don't always have control of their transportation or events occuring with parents and siblings. Your "learning tool" might be punishing the innocent and is harsh. This is why kids played hard for Bud.
