I just took a peek at the Card's website and this was on there. He said I was thought he was tough enough to get through it, I held off as long as he could but I had to give in and get tested, this virus is no joke.

Now that he feels better his test for covid19 came back positive.

(completely recovered, for the record)
Not at the time of the article I read and posted this. Glad he is well but I'm sure that ain't unusual for most young healthy people although it has taken sone very young and health folks too. I hear it is miserable thing to go through even when it's not deadly.

0.5% is too low. No idea if it is 1% or 2%, but it's become difficult to justify 0.5% as a reasonable assumption about the potential death rate based upon places like SK or the experience in NYC (especially when you do an analysis on excess total deaths, including the vast increase in deaths at home that aren't being officially recorded as COVID deaths on NYC death certificates.)

Germany calculates .375 percent.

There are far more cases unreported than deaths unreported. And many deaths attributed to Covid may not even be from it.

We have no idea. Fauci himself said from 20-50% of cases are asymptomatic. The virus has been here a while. We don’t know the denominator at all. At all.

Germany looked at one village, a sample size much smaller than a place like SK.

Again, that just doesn't make sense relative to other places with lots of testing, and it doesn't hold up vs. the death rates in NO and NYC.

We continue to have too much focus on actual reported COVID deaths vs. analysis of aggregate change in total population deaths, which are much higher.

NYC doesn’t set the mortality rate.

Good Lord. You don’t know me is getting depantsed over and over and NM is giving him a debate wedgie time and again. This is embarrassing.

When they have something like 20% of the cases in the US, including one of the largest sample sizes on earth...their result matters a heck of a lot more than a random German village.
This argument makes sense if you believe that numbers elsewhere are accurate, but as you have said... we have no idea on case count. Right now nyc is disproportionately full of cases, but at the end of this, I don’t think that will be true.

And still we are here spitballing because we have no clue.

Glad he is recovering and wish him the best. Anybody else not a fan of his though? As a broadcaster, he's dry and boring. All the off field drama crap with him and his ex, I'm surprised the Cardinals put up with it.

He isn't on my top 10 list for for favorite cardinals...just never really found myself a big fan relative to so many others. He could play though!

He was a very solid player, had some really good seasons here in STL. Just don't care for him as a broadcaster and the drama crap with his ex, give me a break.

I like his color work. He doesn't act as if he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and thinks he has to show us all the time. He doesn't do a lot of telling us what we already know. I don't need someone to tell me exactly why everything little thing happens in a game. I enjoy the laid back attitude and conversation.

I couldn't tell you one thing about his wife or ex or much of anything about his personal life. I couldn't care less about that stuff.

most people live in apartment buildings, walk on crowded sidewalks, work in big office buildings, visit thousands of nearby restaurants and ride public transportation.
Of course they will have more cases per capita. Unbelievable

What's unbelievable? Yes, cities are going to be hit harder...it's obvious. I never said they wouldn't.

However, If you were to take out NYC.... where would our stats be? One city doesn't dictate the figures for everywhere else.

There is balance. You don't look to just the worstly affected place in the world and rule from that observation. Not everyone is NYC. We don't need to wait for NYC to be clear of cases to do move forward.

---and because you default to thinking I'm a moron and worthy of kidney stones... I guess I'll just say...

Of course we also don't want anywhere else to turn into NYC either, and that is a concern with easing up what we are doing.

I really do feel sorry for you. I don't know what kind of abuse you have taken in whatever way, but you are an extremely ungracious, unforgiving, callous, incompassionate soul.

Jesus died for you though. He says come and follow him! :)

Do you mean like Tim McCarver?

I don't mind Tim. In fact I enjoy a lot of his old time stories. I don't need someone telling me strategy and why and if, etc. I've been around baseball long enough that I know what's going on. I like to be entertained. Hearing stories of some of the stuff that went on back in the day is entertaining to me. His Gibby stories are some of the best.

I don’t mind his stories. I just can’t stand how dumb he must think the viewers are. Who else could you be referring to?
