Great news for mediocre high school coaches. Jeff Saturday coached a HS team to a 3-7 record in 2020 and is now interim coach of the Colts with no college or pro coaching experience. Here is what Peyton thinks:

They never gave Frank Reich a good quarterback in order to have a chance to succeed. They gave him two old quarterbacks and a project quarterback, but never a good quarterback.
He had Andrew Luck his 2018, first year. They went 10-6 and lost to Chiefs in the divisional round.
Several teams have lost to the Chiefs since Mahomes took over, so that is not an indictment on Reich. During his tenure he had one year with a good QB who ended up retiring before the start of their second season together. I think Reich is still a good coach. I am wondering if Chris Ballard will get many more chances to get it right.
From 2017 to 2020, Saturday was the head coach at Hebron Christian Academy. Going 20-16, making the playoffs every year and reaching the state quarterfinals in 2019.
That is literally the extent of his coaching experience. The Colts would have been better off calling JRod! Heck, call Bosko and I'd bet they would get better results!
On a side note, he's been an ESPN analyst and guest for many years. He's always been very anti Chiefs/Mahomes. I hope the Colts dumpster fire burns even brighter after this.

Reich gets one year of Luck, then Brissett, and the corpses of Ryan and Rivers. Goes something like 40-33…and gets fired. Just goes to show, being an NFL owner or GM doesn’t mean you know Jack about football. Goodness.
They have NEVER recovered from Luck walking away, this is just crazy!

Thanks for the thought, Shoot. But like I've said on here many times, I have never coached. Better to let Indy make me the GM! Now THEN I could correct that dumpster fire of an organization! My first move as GM? Get Coach Nickerson out of retirement!!! He has exponentially more coaching experience than Jeff Saturday! Other than being a good center, the dude is a buffoon!

Jim Irsay is certifiable.
Cheerleading only lasts a week or two in the league. They had the unknown. Saturday's cliché quotes won't get him very far, he's going to actually have to coach a bit. We'll see if he can do it.
Man the Colts had more pep in their step yesterday than all year put together!

Saturday is the GOAT. The best I’ve ever seen. What an inspiration. He is the Jimmy G of coaching.
