Anyone who has watched the hearings cannot deny Trump's culpability in the events leading up to and on the day of Jan 6. Trump needs to be held accountable. Rep Sen Kinzinger's closing remarks last night express why we cannot turn a blind eye to Trump's failure to honor his oath to the constitution.

Kinzinger's remarks last night made me disappointed to think he is not running again. I wonder what he will do next.
Witnesses Sarah Matthews and Matthew Pottinger were also very impressive. And both are life long Republicans and Trump supporters before Jan 6. Both resigned by the end of the day on Jan 6 saying they could no longer defend Trump's actions or support Trump's failure to honor his oath to the constitution.
I also really liked Liz Cheney's comments about the courage of the women who testified unlike a bunch of 50, 60, and 70 year old men who were afraid to speak out against Trump.

Every voter in the country should listen to Cheney’s closing statement from last night. She doesn’t blame Trump voters, nor even the rioters. She succinctly explains what happened and why and calls out the cowards.
Also a great point about the fact that Bill Barry and others were not delicate flowers would have changed their testimony if McCarthy had left the other members on the committee.
I'll guess MGHS is not paying any attention to anything anybody has said in their testimony but if he has seen what Pence's security detail was doing and saying on their radios that day he would have to admit the VP was absolutely in danger, something he has said never happen. This was highly trained secret service people that were afraid for the safety of the VP and their own.
Can you imagine being a family member of a secret service agent that you knew was protecting the VP of the United States and you get a call to say his/her goodbyes because they thought they were in that much peril? They actually were not at all sure they had clear path to get out of there.
Those families could understand if their loved ones were going with the VP to Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. Not in the United States Capitol should they have to feel worried like that.
At one point in Thurs hearing, they were playing the radio transmissions between Capitol Police. I heard one of them say "we got an officer down, he's unconscious". Don't try to tell me nobody was in danger.
I'd like to know if MG still thinks didn't have the ability to call off that crowd at any time. If so he may be the only person in the country that thinks that. ALL of Trump's supporters in the media, in congress and in his own family were begging him to call them off. They obviously KNEW he could have done it much sooner.
Did they listen to him after he did call them off? Nope they continued on till they NG showed up. IT just shows how stupid politicians, the media, and even some of his family are if they think that One person can stop a mob with Words. I never said he couldn't of told them to stop sooner but it wouldn't of changed a dang thing at all. It sort of shows how little people understand that once these things start they don't stop until the burn out or overt force is shown or used.

By the time Trump called off his dogs 3 hrs after the violence erupted, the situation inside the Capitol had calmed to the point that people inside were just milling around the hallways. Pence and Congress were safe. There wasn't anymore rioters breaking down doorways, chanting of "hang Mike Pence" and "Nancy, Nancy.". That was all covered in Thurs televised hearing.
Trump's initial tweet after the Capitol was breached (about 2:40) just said "don't harm the Capitol police" and NO mention of stopping the rioting and attack on the Capitol. Con Man chose his words carefully and purposely omitted the message to STOP!!! The rioters fully understood his intended message to carry on.
Trump got his flock to do exactly what he wanted on Jan 6!!! And he did nothing purposely to stop it!!

Did you watch the video of the rioters looking at their cell phone? They showing it and telling others "Trump is telling us to go home, he wants us to leave." It takes a little while to get the word to that many people and Trump only sent that message once he knew the NG was going there and is hopes were dashed of them doing what he wanted them to do. ALL the politicians, Fox News buddies and his family KNEW he could call them off or they wouldn't have been calling for him to do it!
Per NPR and I will source. Trump called for people to stay peaceful and support of capital police at 2:38 pm....But at that moment the riot continued to unfold.
Rioters didn't break into the capital building till right before 3pm!!! 36 min. later Trump has ordered NG to clear the building. Trump again calls for a halt at 4:17......it wasn't till 6pm the building was starting to be cleared and secured. So nope they did not listen to his call to be peaceful or stop. The hearings show that as well.
One thing is for sure once it started Trump had zero control over the nutters. It amazes me that you actually believe that Trump controls his supporters and they listen to him and follow his will in lock step like one monolithic group.
I get it lefty dem's tend to not see people as individuals with free will. They just pigeon hole races and religions and sexual genders in groups who all think and act the same...but that is not reality.
Biden's statement "If your having a problem figuring out whether your for me or Trump, then you ain't black" comment sort of sums up the Lefty attitude toward the individual citizens who belong to certain demographics.
The reality is that Trump was just the excuse for some angry and disgruntled people to act unlawful and riot.
It amazes me more that you don't see that is exactly what Trump has done since entering politics. The cult believes every single utterance on every issue that comes out of Con Man's mouth, whether it is true or not!! Name one thing the cult has disagreed with that the Lying King said, even after proven false, they will still perpetuate the falsehood..
