Is Nixa overrated or is Fayetteville that good

Nixa loses by 20+ to Fayetteville, it was at Fayetteville. Game was never really in doubt after 1st quarter. Fayetteville was close to being up 30 at times in second half. Fayetteville was 2-1 coming into the game

I don’t know anything about this year’s team, but most years Fayetteville is that good.

When I was in Fayetteville in 2016, they’re high school gym was covered with sports championships banners all over, and many of them girls basketball. It was a nice gym with a practice gym directly behind one of the end walls.

I would say Carl Junction is an average to slightly about average team Nixa has played. They won by 10 but it was a 1 point game with 2 minutes to go.

Yeah that is true, I forgot about CJ. They aren't a really good or really bad team, you are right. How many seniors did they lose from last yrs team? How many starters? I know that the freshman starter from last yr is back and that a sophomore last year who came off the bench and was a great defender is now starting during her junior year.

I think Nixa can win 75% of their games this yr at least, but they won't beat Kickapoo, who they play on December 17th at Kickapoo, and they won't beat West Plains, who look like a state title contender to me, and look even better than last yr when they lost only two close games.

The true test of how good Nixa is will come against teams like Willard, Carthage, Ozark, and Republic. They could win all of those games, or lose them all, or somewhere in between.

The 2 girls you mentioned are about it. CJ has 5 girls who can compete against a team like Nixa but they have no bench. They might have beat Nixa if they could get away with only playing those 5. The drop off once they go to the bench is large.

I watched the game on the Nixa City link website (https://www.citylinktv.com/channel/nixa-eagles/) and Fayetteville is a really really good team. Nixa's man to man defense was simply overmatched against girls with that kind of talent (as they will be when they play Kickapoo and West Plains at least) and Fayetteville handled Nixa's pressure with relative ease, to the point where they quit doing it for the most part until the very end when Fayetteville brought in their backups.

And on offense, only the older Kickapoo transfer was able to do much of anything. She is straight legit. But Perryman's two favorite players were complete non factors.

Id be stunned if they didnt beat clever. Fair Grove Beat clever earlier and fg is down

Nixa destroyed Clever by over 40. Clever not playing good basketball right now, poor rebounding and defense, not executing on offense and generally just not playing together to get high quality shots. The ball movement they had last yr for the most part and in the first game this yr has been poor since. But beyond that, they have to do "the little things" better, like block out, rebound, and defend. They have the talent, but not the chemistry right now.

Nixa was coming off of the loss to Fayetteville and obviously took it out on Clever.

clever is not good and was on the decline ever since clevenger graduated. There some players on that team that arent very mentally tough and easy to rattle
