You can't make this stuff up. Just got done talking to my friend that an admin in another school in Luthern North conference.

Luthern North was scouting the Cardinal Ritter game in Chicago and knew then who was at running back. But was going to stay quiet about it till after first round of districts and get get CR disqualified. Someone on LN staff leaked it to a parent who notified either a reporter or CR.

If true is Lutheran north in any trouble for not notifing MSHSAA immediately?

What?? Come on now, I’m all for people beating up on LN for trying to recruit an all star team, but there’s lot of schools, coaches and admin who are aware of wrong doing at other schools and go about minding their own business.

MSHSAA is having a hard enough time holding accountable the perpetrators of these kinds of incidents, let alone bystanders.

If LN was aware of it and waited until the end of the year to make an issue of it when they knew of it week 1, then maybe that kind of opportunism could have been addressed at that time. But that’s not what happened.

The other obviously painful point that needs to be made is how do we know LN is the only school that was aware of the issue and didn’t report it? What if there are 30 schools who knew? Should we punish them all? Where would that actually end? Why would that only apply in this instance? Are we going to start holding Webb City accountable every time MacDonald County does something stupid and Webb knows about it but doesn’t report it?

That seems insane.

If what is being reported actually happened the way it was described, the people who should be held accountable is the coach, whoever hired the coach, and the people who knowingly participated in the scheme, whoever they may be.

Im not really a fan of trying to drag every bystander into these things. Seems like a huge rabbit hole.

I have read every STL Post Dispatch article on these two schools since the preseason. I failed to notice the matching tattoos in game one and game two summary photos. Am I in trouble with MSHAA?

All this mess just proves the true motivations and character of these two programs. Those schools that pride themselves on a private christian based education, and let this happen in their athletic programs should be ashamed. Hats off to Trinity for taking the needed steps with their situation. Will the others follow suit?

This is not a military academy - no honor code. This should not even be a MSHSSA matter. Cardinal Ritter needs to take care of the matter in the only way it should be done.

Doubtful that they are in trouble but the story is amusing. From what MSHAA did to the kids cheating in Dora last year I suspect little to be done. Big stories with little consequences.

How does Ritter’s use of an ineligible player and subsequent cover up prove “something” about the character of Lutheran North or any other school? Because an anonymous poster on a message board says he heard a rumor from an anonymous person at an anonymous school from The Metro League that says he heard something about what some unnamed person allegedly knew about what Ritter did?

Bruh.

Statement from CR:

"OK guys, our bad....we are going to punish our team; henceforth we forfeit pizza in the cafeteria on the 2nd wednesday each month for the rest of the quarter"

Bruh,

I consider my source "sources" pretty damn good.

1. I was the first person to mention the word "Trinity Catholic" on this board 5 years ago when my source told me Paterson was shopping his services around to schools saying he could bring his elite club team to their school if they hired him.

2. My source's source was accurate about what happen at Trinity this year with their coach and students in the school.

3. Today situation. So far he is accurate about a LN parent going to the Diosoe about an ineligible CR player.

Administrators from different schools talk/gossip to each other. If I tell you the school he is at and someone on this board figures out who he is he could get in trouble/fired for discussing personal hiring/firing with me.

In most cases the school disciplines themselves on infractions and the MSHSAA accepts what is done. Pretty clear to me what needs to be done.

Was this a long play by Carl Reed to get both Trinity and Cardinal Ritter kids to Lutheran North. If so, bravo Carl, bravo!!!

Again...as a follow up to my previous post, on a previous thread...

MSHSAA (By-Law 1.1) states...and I quote...
"Missouri Private Schools Are Allowed To Do What Ever They Want"..
end quote..

Seriously...what did you all expect these schools like Trinity, CR, and LN
to do when MSHSAA has such a laissez faire attitude toward them........
When you have such latitude and ability to recruit, I actually kinda wonder
why in the heck the rest of the private schools aren't working as hard as
they are at trying to create dream teams of their own...Oh...wait...they are....

Not only did you spell "Lutheran" incorrect multiple times, but you caused us all to lose brain cells by reading this.

Now why would another school be in trouble because one of their opponents used a player that should have not played in that game? Why? Why? WHY??

Also, the photographer who took the pictures showing the player playing should be banned from MSHSAA activities.
bhunt, someone from Lathrop probably knew and didn't report it, too, right?
:D

Do schools not have a responsibility to report violations?

The real question is.....how many rules are being broken or bent that we don't know about? Would we ever even know unless someone leaked it out? This is the biggest joke and it shows what integrity these institutions have. The whole state is looking at this situation and waiting to see how they come down on Ritter. Mshsaa has their hands full with this crucial decision lol

You are absolutely correct, however you can't deny the similarities of these programs. Optics are bad regardless of how much you try and defend. I base my OPINION on personal interactions and observations at games I have attended. Oh, and I'm not the only one with this opinion. GTG, got that promo to Asst greater..........$.10 raise!.............now what did I do with my vest.......
