If the catholics on this board are good catholics

Do you mean like the verse about "you cannot serve God and money"? Trumpers worship money more than anything.

No, it means worshipping only 1 God. The Bible is funny about metaphors and context. That's why atheism is false. All of us worship a God.

No. Many people do not. You hillbilly humans are just the bridge between animals and us Übermensch.

Yes. Though one may say there is no God, most act as if there is a God. Some Christians claim there is a God, and act as though there is no God. Either way, most people act as if he exists.

Yeah the Bible mentions money and possessions a ton. It's one of the best financial guides there is. Nowhere does it infer money is evil.

Depends on interpretation. In either case the point remains the same, the Bible isn't anti-wealth. It is anti-debt, and anti-love of money over anything else. Which has already been explained.

Or perhaps you interpret to suite yourself.

Or maybe I'm just pointing out the reality that most parables weren't meant to be taken literally.

But you do you. Play "gotcha" with scripture, I'm sure God approves of that...

HA I doubt if God approves of cutting funds for poor while making the rich richer.

calm down. they get to pick and choose which two corinthians they listen to and ignore whichever ones they want, cause you get to decide which ones are literal and which ones aren’t.

Why has the saying always been. The rich get richer etc...? Because it's true. This results in a disproportionate top few people accumulating most of the wealth. Whether this is fair or not, I don't know but it's unequal.
The same type of thing happens in everything. Hockey Goals by NHL players, Recording Artist Records, Authored Books Sold, The Mass of Stars, The size of trees in the jungle. The problem of inequality is much greater than capitalism lol.

In total, the 20 richest Americans donated roughly $8.7 billion to charity in 2018, just 0.8 percent of their collective net worth. Excluding Gates and Buffett -- the top givers -- that plummets to $2.8 billion, or 0.3 percent.

How much did you donate to charity last year? Or rather, what percentage of your wealth did you donate?

Outside of tithes, we donated an approximate additional 2% of our bring home pay to various charities.

Let's compare the Marxist economies with the USAs in terms of available stuff that actually provide health and prosperity. Bahahahaha

Money is not the root of all evil. But the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10).
For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
It means to stop bleeping and work if you can. If you're not thankful and don't make sacrifices you can lose what you have.
And you might lose it anyway.
I know of a bunch of millionaires that kill themselves.. lol
The goal is not happiness, the goal is going after what you want. What grips you. I never cared much for money. I like it, but that didn't drive me.

Be content with what you're given. It's all God's anyway.

Too easy to destroy your pathetic arguments. The Lawrence O'Donnell approach is shallow. Read up coach. Come back when you can put up a fight.

Trump does to a degree but what he really loves is competing and having more money is winning in his circle, he likes to win money is just the scorecard..and you can't speak for most of the people who voted for him choosing the lesser of two evils last election.

I like money but really never had he drive to make Millions. Just enough to be comfortable. Most people are that way.

True God would not like cutting of funds for the actual poor....in America we have nothing but Lazy and irresponsible people who want a handout so they can lead a pagan lifestyle....God has no problem with not helping them with Cash to enable their sins.

Does the pope ever talk about Jesus and the Resurrection? You know that old stuff written in the Bible.

I'm not Catholic but might convert if we had a good ole War Pope like Julius II...I could get behind a Pope who wasn't a big Wussy.

* If you read the word “wussy” and your brain processes take you immediately to Donald Trump, weellllll.....you MAY have TDS. Talk to your doctor to see if Zoloft may be right for you.

TDS is associated with low testosterone. May just need an injection of test.
