Just caught the teaser on a news channel the other day and didn't see anymore about it. Haven't heard anything about it since, is it true? I would think it would be a pretty big story if it is.

Not really meaningful. The teams, which are individual companies, have always been taxable entities.

Not meaningful??? The NFL has been skipping out on millions of dollars in taxes for a LONG time. I realize it wouldn't fix the budget but that much revenue should not be given away every year either.

False. The NFL league office loses money according to its tax forms. Again the profits sit in the teams which have always been taxable entities.

The NFL doesn't own the TV money, the stadium revenue, etc. the teams directly own it.

A lot of farmers lose money according to their tax forms too but they have huge houses and drive high dollar new cars and trucks. I have seen news stories on the NFL and their non profit status. I believe the last was on 60 Minutes and they didn't seem to think the NFL was broke.

Think of the NFL corporation as being like a corporate headquarters of casino company. The money is made at the casinos. The office is just overhead needed to run the business.
