Come on. I know we have some real baseball fans on this board. Did we all skip the game last night? There is no way you could have watched that game and not been cussing Matheny. For you folks who say managers dont win or lose games.....Stop it.

Holland had no spring training. Matheny brings him in. Its obvious after 2 batters that he couldnt find the plate with a high powered telescope. So what does Matheny do? Has him intentionally walk the bases loaded and then LEAVES HIM IN to walk in the deciding run. For the love of cheddar brats someone besides me scream WHAT THE FREAK!!!

I had ZERO issue with him bringing him in. And he did go 3-2 to both batters...BUT...it was obvious he didn't have it. Pitches, face, and body language told that story. I was absolutely blown away he faced the third batter (sac bunt)...even more blown away when they left him in after the IBB (which was the right thing to do, the IBB that is).

Who would have thought Bud, the Cardinal killer, Norris would be the bullpen ace at any point! Lol.
 
The roster construction is ridiculous too. Not having another bat on this bench in April is obnoxious.

I don't mind pitching Holland there if the team and its scouts think they are ready, but YEESH that ended badly. I do agree, Duck, I could see admitting after two guys that he needed to come out.

RISP, RISP Different faces, but same results. Shoddy defense, poor base running and terrible hitting with RISP. Losing close games and terrible managing. I was there last and it was very quiet as I tried to get kicked out of the game screaming at Matheny as Holland was throwing the ball all over the place.I know he had to hear me!

Vb what's up with the Lake Loons in the ballpark in the late innings? Is that as annoying in the ball park as it is on TV. I'm thinking that would drive me crazy in person but maybe it sound worse on TV. They keep calling them Rick Flair fans, whatever they are it needs to stop. :mad:
 
When they bring Dominic Leone in the game am I the only one who sings "Leone, Leone likes his money... ... . "?

I can hear them on TV even if the guys in the booth haven't said anything about them yet. They are very annoying, I guess they must be close to some field mics. I have no idea how they can keep doing it for so long.:mad:
