I don't need a gun

This message really doesn't apply to me, I have needed a gun, I have used a gun for self protection, and all turned out well. However for the city-slickers, I post this.

I don't need a gun
I have never needed a gun
I hope I never need a gun
And in all likelihood, I will never need a gun

However, should I ever need a gun, I better have a gun
Therefore, I have a gun

If the government ever says you don't need one
That's when you need one

I'd bet "city slickers" feel the need to have a gun for personal protection waaay more than most of us. Good luck with your gun/guns if the government ever truly decides to come after them. I'd be willing to bet you'll be outgunned no matter what you have on hand.

Probably so 3R, but they might know they came to my house, versus others.

I think you'll be ok. I'm pretty sure the military or CIA ain't headin you way any time soon. Who knows about Homeland security, that's one strange, and expensive, government agency.

Yes, because with drones and lazer guided missile systems, they'll ever even have to set foot in your house.

I hate the "protection from tyrannical government" argument. It carried weight 250 years ago when everyone was on a level playing field with muskets and, at worst, cannons, but get serious, if the government wants to take you, me, or any other gun owner out, they can do it without ever putting themselves in any danger. When it comes down to your AR-15 vs. their guided Hellfire missile, what chance do you actually have?

It's an illusion, the illusion of safety.

Who are they going to send? Other pro-gun people?

You mean like when the Iraqi army just wiped out ISIS with ease, or the fact Russia has to go prop up Assad's government from rebels?

Yes, those armies and air forces are pretty similar to ours.

I realize the Iraqi and Syrian forces our not a match for ours. My point in responding to Skeeters post was the fact that the Syrian Air Force with 60,000 personnel and 750 aircraft, as well as the Iraqi Air Force, with 16,000 personnel and 400 aircraft should be able to make short work of a few guys with AR-15's......but they aren't.

Please please please keep comparing gun owners to Isis that will surely help in the battle for public opinion

Home invaders here will get a heavy dose of the dog, followed by me going Bruce Lee on them and that will be end of their story.

I'm sure your dog, and your Bruce Lee impersonation, will impress there 12 gauge and 45. They will laugh, as they do whatever it is they came to do.

They will be walking funny when Bruce, I mean I, shove that 12 gauge somewhere.

Man that's a big dog. He or she would eat my 20lb Pug in one bite.

Yeah she's a big sweety. Kim wanted another dog when we moved back home and that is the one she picked out.

My next dog will be a Redbone Coonhound. Something that doesn't eat a 30lb bag of dog food in one sitting(well maybe it was only half).

I don't think most people want to take your guns. I do believe most people would like to see fewer deaths by guns. How that can be achieved without having fewer guns in our world I haven't a clue.
