I don't care what your beliefs are.
I don't care your political affiliation.
You have to agree this is immoral.

At the minimum tax the !@#$ out of these people who have taken no risk, cured no diseases, cared for no patients. Absurd.

I don't know if we should get too offended.

What about the obscene amount of money professional athletes and movie stars make.

Seldom do we agree wcfan, but I do agree, but these things are happening to Obamacare because this was part of the deal making of the bill. Anybody who makes this kind of money should pay higher taxes, but it still wouldn't fix the problem. I don't believe in cutting everything to the bone, but we have to at least slow down the spending!

Athletes and entertainers have nothing to do with our health care system which is not serving a large portion of our population well.

I find it easier to justify that, actually, although my opinion on CEOs is that it's more a story of overpaying for poor/middling performance than a problem of paying people who do well.

With athletes and movie stars they are the main event in a lot of cases. They bring in the revenue.

Thanks to Obama care the insurance company that I have had insurance with for years is getting out of the business and hundreds of thousands of us are now without insurance.

The early quotes coming in are 20-30% higher.

So much for you can keep your healthcare if you choose to.

So much for weapons of mass destruction, or mission accomplished. Tit for tat.

what a well thought out response Hannibal. Care to explain what that has to do with the current mess in our healthcare?

Sounds like your insurer cannot compete. Health insurance rates have been jumping like that for years. Obama care is just a means to get us to a single payer system like israel and germany.

For every example of how health care is not working there are as many that show it is helping. Millions now insured that had no way of getting insurance before.

Jake, I am definitely taking your opinion on this, as you are insider with State Farm. Do you think you can get me a good quote on car insurance or do I need to call at 3:00 in the morning?

Professional athletes make that much money because WE allow it by paying ridiculous ticket prices and demanding all the games be on TV. The organizations and owners get huge $$$ for TV deals. Not to mention pro athletes have a relatively short period of time to make enough money to set them for life. Many CEOs work into their old age making this kind of money and most made a LOT of money while working their way up to the top job.

And the Pubs need to let go of it. It's done. Move on.

It's obscene. Insurance pimps. My BIL is a insurance producer. After he landed a U-Haul account liability and health insurance for it's employee's he made a cool 2-Million. His most greedy comment he made "I love U-Haul. They need lot's of insurance. They kill lot's of people". Don't get me wrong, INS is a wonderful thing. It's just so lucrative at every level of the system. I'm suprised the CEO's salaries are not higher.

Not done at all

During the demo debate moderator asked Clinton with the skyrocketing deductables what was affordable about Obamacare.

What difference does it make if someone's subsidized premium is only $80 a month if they have to pay $7000 out of pocket before insurance pays a dime??

Half of the Co-Op's have already failed

As soon as we get a republican president Obamacare as we know it will be gone

Not going to happen. You can't win an election on this premise. No-way

They are already running away from gutting Medicaid expansion in the proposed replacement in the Senate.

They may update the law but the core of it isn't going away.

I agree NM. This like many bills will be tweaked time and again hopefully improving the product, but it is not going away unless the Supreme Court does it and they have had their chance and failed to defeat it.

Entitlements are hard to get rid of. And a fair amount of the opposition to the ACA was opposition to Obama, not opposition to everything that is in the bill. The big business wing of the R party has never been all that opposed to the bill, and the states like it when the Feds are willing to give them a lot of money.

Ginsburg is 79, Breyer is 74.

Scalia and Kennedy aren't young, either, and they aren't exactly pictures of health. Also I thought Ginsburg is over 80 already.

The importance of this election for the S Court is probably understated - one of these four people is decently likely to not be on the court come January 19, 2021.

The Supreme Court should no longer be a lifetime position. Appoint a judge every two years for an 18 year term, every two years the Chief Justice would be the one with the most seniority and then that judge is gone.

Every Presidential term gets to appoint 2 Justices.

You are right she is 82. All of those a ges are 3 years off. I didn't notice the link was a 2012 link. Dang Google! https://www.google.com/webhp?source...-8#q=how old are supreme court judges&es_th=1

I strongly disagree that all should get to be chief, that's a different job that should have more continuity and not all who serve on the court have the personality to be chief.

I don't have an inherent problem with an 18 year term but I don't think that it's magically better than the current setup.

No.

No. The court should not become any more political than it already is.
