It has been preached to every team I have been around.... question is how many actually do it, when they are away from the field?

I know Bosko is hydrating every day at that dump he calls a bar.

Haha...fake pic. That bar has a guy at the door named Horace that has your picture on the BANNED list. 1) They don't serve Natty lite 2) You have to have on decent clothes. 3) You leered at women so much, the bouncers had to have A LITTLE TALK WITH YOU. Okay the SHADY LADY Lounge, NOT OKAY here. Capiche? Remember that?

You're a handsome devil Sheldon..!
Okay you bozos and CLOWN!!! For one, that IS my local hangout. They DO serve domestic and foreign brews. INCLUDING NATTY LITE!!!!! The last time you all saw the Ampipe Pool Hall was back in 1983!! A LOT has improved around Ampipe since then. Partially in thanks to YOURS TRULY!! And lastly, having a "chat" or "talk" with someone is MY thing! Get your own thing. NICE TRY BOZOS!!!!!

That looks like that great classic bar Paul Newman hung out in the early 80s movie The Verdict.............

drinking water doesn’t prevent cramping. So unless your diet is restricted, if you are prone to cramps, increasing your salt intake can be helpful.

I picture my Bosko being more of a pool hall style of playa. Thanks for crushing that image.

Wrong. Not surprisingly.
Waiting until the day of the game isn’t the way to address the issue. But you go ahead and eat a nanner this morning. You can run a marathon in the heat and all will be ok.

I'm still looking for an IPA to recommend that will top my last one. Lol!
What was the last one??? I just had a brewery open up in my backyard. It's a blessing and a curse. They have this IPA...Parkside Pineapple. 4 By 4 is the brewery. Not sure how far they distribute though. I know it's here locally in the Spfd metro. Not sure how far they reach. It's not necessarily my bag, but man it's got a cult following. I'm more of an STLIPA/Two-Hearted/Greene Ghost kind of a guy.

You gotta remember, the Bosko you saw back in 1983 was a much younger Bosko. Ampipe wasnt what it is now. Im older, the town has improved. We like some of the more finer things in life. Now having said that, I am NOT above going to a tiny dive bar. Tossing back some ice cold Schlitz and SCHOOLING some fools in pool!

Thank you. And good luck to you on pre-loading those electrolytes all week. Shouldn't have any problems. Hell, start several weeks early next time. Build it up.

To be fair to each of you...taking a bunch of potassium week of or day before is going to have about the same effect, which ain't much. Just going to piss a bit more. Most of this stuff has to be done in regulation over the long haul to really have advantages, of course mixed with the right nutrition. My favorite is to have the kids load up on (enter your electrolyte of choice here) and then watch the dipsticks throw back a soda or energy drink to the tune of a liter or so a day.

I just know I have had kids who don’t like bananas, who decided to eat two the day of a hot game and I had to dig Tums out of the med kit because they weren’t feeling great. My point was, waiting till game day and trying to load up hasn’t gone well for some kids I know.

Thanks for being fair. But there is some advantage to taking a small electrolyte supplement in the 24 hours prior to vigorous and extended physical activity such as a football game. There is no way to load up electrolytes before that. (In fact, most of us need to decrease our daily sodium intake, not increase it.) It is also recommended that those engaging in that type of fluid loss drink an electrolyte drink during and after extreme fluid loss through sweating.

Bottom line here. If your athletes have NOT properly drank and eaten by this time in the season, that falls on your booster club. ANY efficient booster club is providing proper meals and drinks BEFORE season starts, so you dont find yourself in this position. Then DURING the season, the club should be providing weekly meals and proper hydration daily.

That's why I tend to mix mine with barley. I like to be safe.

It feels good to give back.

Well, dammit! For the life of me I can't recall the name nor brewery. I just remember you posting, "to whoever recommended (IPA I can't recall) I want to give a thumbs up. Then a subsequent middle finger to you."

I still get a good laugh about that. I remember that IPA being good but carried the ability to really sneak up on you. Super high alcohol percentage
