And the remaining games not listed are just as bad. So how do you coach this bad of a team? What about if you're the opposing coach?

They are losing to small schools, they're a good size city school. How can a big city school be so bad?

Their JV is losing games even worse, as in getting shutout

Once you are up 20:
Don't press
Once you are up 30:
Sit in a zone
Don't transition
Work your offense until you get a lay-up (7+ passes before you shoot)
Only subs play the rest of the game

School size doesn't matter when it comes to athletics. Having kids and parents dedicated to athletics is what builds a school's athletic program. If there isn't any interest or talent then it doesn't matter the school size. Vice versa: if kids and parents are dedicated to athletics then small schools will always compete with larger schools. Talent and dedication has to be created before entering high school. And if you can get both in large quantities, then you'll be good no matter the sport or school size.

As a coach, what do you tell your players going into every game knowing you'll be blown out on the losing end?

I agree with the above reply

As a coach, you have to keep things positive. Eventually, it is no longer about wins or losses, but you must celebrate the small things. You celebrate the improvement in your players as the season progresses. The nice bounce pass to an open teammate for a layup, or a stop on defense are both things to cheer about. A good coach is someone who can find the positive things and build on them for the future. There is always something you can compliment your players on.
