The difference between them is Vick did what he had to do to get back to the league. Kaepernick would rather be a martyr than a quarterback. So no, I don't have a lot of sympathy for him.

Kapernick did nothing compared to Vick. He may have served his time here. He had a post shortly after he got out that had a picture inside his home. There was a dog in that picture. He quickly took it down because he is not supposed to have a dog.

Not long after Vick was convicted a dog fight got busted in a barn not quite an hour from Joplin in a neighboring state. About 30 people were charged and plead guilty to simple misdemeanors with fines around $200. One guy was guilty of a felony because he had his grandson with him. You drive around our country at 3am on Saturday nights and see a barn with pickup trucks all around it and no lights it’s a dog fight or a chicken fight.

Like it or hate it dog fights are a part of southern culture. Vick paid a hell of a price for something that is generally accepted in our part of the world .

Never have understood why humans fighting each other in a ring and beating each other to a bloody pulp is ok, but having dogs doing it is a felony??

Lot to unpack there. Not even sure why I'm attempting this, someone who would attempt to justify or garner acceptance for dog fighting is both unenlightened and unlikely to be open to their mind being changed.

It has a lot to do with consent. Dogs being being subjected to short pain filled lives is not remotely close to a person CHOOSING to pursue a career or hobby involving fighting.

That's as far as I'm choosing to go, because as I stated earlier, I'm sure most of this will be lost on you.

I didn't realize not wanting dogs to tear each other apart for the enjoyment of rednecks and morons was an issue of being "woke", thought that was the most basic human decency.
