Why does the government need more to spend money on today? There are only 2 things we NEED to spend money on as a country......Debt payment and Defense (includes border).
I guess you don't drive on the roads or or use any anything federal money has built? It said in the thang YOU posted they didn't have much to spend money on back in the day. We have a little more infrastructure since then too. I guess you figure everything would be hunky dory without that. YOU might want to live in the dark ages, most of us do not.
