How much recruiting is going on in STL

Actually I am not bitching just pointing out the facts of the inequalities between public and private schools currently, those that you have actually acknowledge exist! And yes you are right I am not naive enough to think posting about it on this message board is enough to make serious changes. But I also don't believe that one change fixes everything. And do you seriously believe these discussions only happen on this board, you are only kidding yourself.

Secondly this is a Missouri sports forum board and this pertains to Missouri high school football so I think we can discuss it if we want. So if you want to have a civilized discussion about the topic at hand I can too. If you want to continue to act like a high school adolescent I can stoop to that level also.

You clowns pretend to live in a town from a wack ass Tom Cruise movie from the 80s and believe that MSHSAA is taking notes about policy changes from anonymous yahoos on a message board.

If you think I’m trying to prevent discussion of the topic or even trying to change your minds, then you just haven’t been paying attention. I LOVE seeing you bitching and it’s entertaining AF to see you think you’re affecting change here or anywhere outside of a MSHSAA Committee Meeting. I don’t want you to stop and I don’t want to educate you. I want to troll you and frustrate you and be a general pain in your hurt butts PURELY because it’s fun to watch you foam at the mouths because you don’t like Trinity Catholic.

Unclinch your uterus. No need to soaz because I didn’t answer you as quickly as you’d like. I spent a decent amount and every penny was worth it for me. My kid got an extraordinary education and was fortunate enough to have received scholarships to play the sport he loves at the school he felt most comfortable at.

You seem super obsessed with what other people do for and with their kids. It’d be a better use of your time and energy to focus on your own. Just some advice that I’m sure you won’t follow.

I won't be sorry I do worry about kids, see that's sort of always in me. We adopted three kids who came from a very bad home life. I am glad you spent the money and your child is doing well. My oldest child is doing just fine set to graduate and plans to go into coaching. They have been working in high risk high schools in the inner city school systems. So yeah from talking to them I have an idea about what those schools are like and the struggles they have. But they want to better those schools. I like to see kids succeed not just mine.

LOL um I just agreed with you that they are not? I will capitalize this for you. "I TOTALLY AGREE THEY ARE NOT ON HERE TAKING NOTES" what I type on here makes no changes!!! Totally agree with you on that point!!!

No I actually have, I went back and looked at your posting history. shoot I even liked something you posted in your history ;). And if you think this bothers me you don't have a clue about me. I waste no time in my life discussing or thinking about private schools outside of what I post on this board just to pass the time away while I am on a boring call, I have more important things to do. I was just enjoying getting you foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog....so seems we agree on some things. LOL. :D

And NO, this staff does not actively recruit. If a kid wants to come, they wont tell them "no." That is not actively recruiting.
So how many D1 prospects do all of these schools have sitting out this year for properly transferring from other schools

MSHSAA will always be slow to change. People on this forum complaining the

Now a days kids can get around the one year transfer rule if previous school objects by saying they want safer environment then previous school. Which alot of times is a legit reason.

There are roughly 10 qualifiers for eligibility exceptions that MSHSAA lists. The general rule though is that the transfer isn’t PRIMARILY for athletic reasons (meaning the parents can provide documentation indicating there are non-athletic reasons that necessitated a transfer).

It leaves huge holes from the wording and invites explanation. I seriously have no clue why MSHSAA hasn’t addressed it.

South Iron boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are both ranked 3rd in preseason polls.
Hayti’s football and boys’ basketball teams both ranked 1st in respective polls.

I can only come up with one explanation for the success at Hayti and South Iron - they have to be recruiting! Impossible to have that many talented and hard-working kids at such small schools, lol.

Lamar’s been King of The Class 2 Hill for damn near a decade and it sure AF isn’t because families are falling all over themselves to move there from STL or KC. They run an offense that works when the weather is bad, they have a feeder program that builds their kids, their community has bought in (so parents don’t complain when Bailey makes them cry, works them till they puke and rules with an iron fist), and (in spite of their obvious lack of diversity) they aren’t just big, slow white kids. They won state in track. You can’t hate it.

Silly, me! In reading this thread one would think the only path to success (sustained or not), is to successfully recruit. Maybe there is something to kids doing what they’re told and hard work. To think otherwise insults those who do as described.

It takes more than obedience and effort. There are plenty of school not named Lamar that try hard and don’t win championships OR earn scholarships. Lamar (and others) are proof that complaints about how unfair everything is for little rural public schools isn’t accurate. Effort doesn’t guarantee success in football or in life, and championships or scholarships aren’t the ultimate measures of success.

I realize listening to your coaches and hardworking players guarantee nothing. But my point being, without those characteristics there is a guarantee. Recruiting is not a guarantee. Luck is not a guarantee. Often, all coming together at the right time gives you a chance ... but no guarantee. Thanks for allowing me to dumb-down my sarcasm.

Fair is a place where they judge pigs at, it doesn’t exist in real life. That being said, that freaking CBC team was a lower level MIAA team, something needs to be done. The private schools can have there own tournament.

I was only a week removed from watching Pitt State vs Missouri Southern when I saw CBC. I can say with little doubt the CBC line was or seemed bigger and as mobile as both those College teams . Well way bigger than Southern.

I went to a public school but the public school butt hurt is deep. Some of the best programs have all been public schools. Jeff City, Blue Springs, Webb City, Lamar, Hazelwood Central & East, Sumner, Staley, and I’m sure there are more I’m missing.

Fact is a lot school recruit. Not just private. I know this because I have seen it.

I understand what your saying but private schools in large metro areas have potentially a huge leg up. like cbc and trinity this year.

I think @bullitpdq68 would make fine Doc Guy. He and Bosko can talk about being president of a booster club! I'm sure bullit's was a little less shady though.
