As I see it they are part of a three horse race in C4 D7 along with Hannibal and Mexico. I still think they may emerge from this district.............As the season has moved along.
Helias will be the most dangerous 3-6 team in the playoffs. The Hannibal-Battle game this week should be a good measuring stick and give us some insight about the district. As I see it they are part of a three horse race in C4 D7 along with Hannibal and Mexico. Does Helias have a chance against Sullivan on Friday night?
I think you might be right. Mexico and Hannibal play a lot of Class 3 competition. Hannibal plays Booneville and Fulton, with the rest being Class 4. Mexico plays four Class 3 teams and even Calaway in Class 2. Helius is beefed up with three Class 6 games and two class 5 games. I think it is an advantage as they improve through the season to have played bigger schools versus playing down. Location and available opponents in certain classes causes a disadvantage come playoff time. The way they have performed against Battle and Rockhurst makes me believe they will make it to the quarterfinals again. As I see it they are part of a three horse race in C4 D7 along with Hannibal and Mexico. I'm not sure about the Helias depth chart situation, but I do know they were very fortunate to get out of Sullivan with a win. Nice bounce on a punt is what comes to mind.#3 and 4 Qb's played the Rockhurst game - #4 played the Sullivan game - basically no other backups available - if Fadoul is back for districts Helias can make a run.

I do not think they get past Hannibal.Yes, it all makes a lot more sense now.
Hannibal is a huge favorite especially with that game being in Hannibal if Helias should get that far which is not a given.
