How many teams are supposed to be in Class 1 now?

rumor that I heard at last week's jamboree that Class 1 will be limited to 40 schools. Class 6 will have a cap as well and the rest of the schools will be squeezed and averaged out over 2-5 with the private school championship factor still in place. Supposively Class 3 is supposted to be the largest class. Several schools that have always been Class 2 are going to wake up tomorrow and be Class 3.

Is this adjustment to class 1 and such going to be just for football or will it impact other sports as well?

The way I read it there will be 36 this year. After that the minimum will be 32 and the max will be 42.

For example there are 306 schools playing football. If the number increase to 309, then class 1 will have 39 team in the class.
