How bad did Class 1 Valle beat Class 3 SG this time?

Oh dear. I wonder if the public schoolers need to read the thread about how the private schools make their teams the best and learn from it.

Out of curiosity why do you worry about Ste. Genevieve County so much?

I find it interesting a quality class 3 public program can't hang with a class 1 program in the same county. Can you explain that?

Yeah Valle is that good right now. Parents are involved and so on. Any time you invest in sending your kid to school they're going to be more involved. That's not the reality at public schools. Not all families or kids are created equal veer. We whipped Valle pretty bad for 10 years until Judd started coaching. He got the Valle community engaged again at a time a lot were concerned the school was going to close. I just laugh at the recruiting and pick of the litter BS you put on here. We had the top RB and LB in class 3 my senior year, never recruited. Faulkner was one of the top QBs in the state, never recruited, etc etc. Coach Weik and Sherry are doing a good job of getting interest back into football. The numbers are up over the last few years and Ste. Gen. will start another run over Valle in a few seasons.

You just need to focus on whatever podunct town you're in right now. You can worry about Valle if your Adrian team ever makes it that far again.

So Valle is better than SG because of parents?
Where have I said valle recruits? They absolutely would've had your superstar if they'd been decent then...or is that a last name that's never played at Valle? Oh wait...i checked their roster.

Do you not understand parental involvement and how it translates into a successful child? What exactly are you looking for here?

I wish Missouri would adopt the IL. Rule if you win x number of state championships
you have to move up a class. The conference Valle plays in is horrible, doesn't
do anybody any good when you are up 50 to 0 at half in most their games. I mean
Brentwood put 72 on Grandview how many can Valle put on them if the so choose.
In football Valle could play a a real decent schedule playing good class 2 and class
3 teams. If they could play like a Brentwood, Lutheran St. Charles, Lutheran North,
O'Fallon Christian. At least their kids would have to play harder and their starters could
play more. St. Gen is not a top class 3 program right now. If you notice both Lamar and
Valle have a 8 game schedule. Simple reason no small school wants to play them what
is to be gained by getting beat by 50 points. It would be great if Valle football got out of
that conference then the could pick and choose their opponents. Not sure about Lamar
conference I know they don't work up a sweat beating them .

Honestly if Valle went to the MAFC White they would at least occasionally be challenged. I say that, but Valle has demolished Ste Genevieve and Potosi in recent years so idk. Park Hills would give them a good game.

Lamar is the smallest school in their conference by a lot.
Valle probably can't get bigger schools to play them because what school wants to take a hit in playoff points playing a lower class school and then get clobbered on the field too.

You don't lose any points for playing down...

You are correct.....my bad. Maybe Valle doesn't want the competition and injuries associated with tough games.

Maybe they just enjoy knowing they'll win 6 games against their conference virtually every year. They have no business playing Crystal City, Grandview, or Herculaneum every year.

Valle' s long winning streak will be broken this year when they play Lamar. I am a Valle fan but this year's team is one of the weakest I have seen in years. They beat Ste Gen but Ste Gen is really down this year. Last year's Valle team would of have given Lamar a run but not this year. That's not saying IMO Valle won't go far in class 1, heck may even make it to the dome. But not going to be an easy road.

1. They don't play at the dome anymore.

2. Of course they make it far in Class 1, they have no competition. It's like putting Alabama in the Sun Belt and acting shocked when they win every game by 60...

You act like they have a choice to not play the teams in their conference. Not the easiest thing in the world to just pick up and move to the MAFC White, if those teams would even allow it to begin with.

Lamar is the smallest school in the Big 8 but not by a lot. Seneca, Mt Vernon, and East Newton are all not that much bigger then Lamar in enrollment. Monett and McDonald Co are the only schools that have the big number advantage per say in the conference.

You stated something about parental involvement and successful children. Are the parents at SG not doing their part? What did you mean by that? I think that's a fair question.

Do you think the population of a private school is going to be more involved(given they are paying for the education) than the rest of the general population such as public school? If you haven't figured this out you are dimmer than I thought. How about you worry about Adrian for awhile and leave this county to those who inhabit it.

Are you less of an involved parent if you don't send your kid to private school? Please answer that question.

I heard on the radio that Valle currently holds the nation's longest active winning streak. 41 in a row if I'm not mistaken.

they have the second longest current streak.. Pahranagat Valley in Nevada is currently at 94 straight.

Valle most certainly has a choice with the teams they play. They can get out of that conference and either join a different conference or go independent. Whoever made the decision years ago to add Valle to that conference are a bunch of high paid fools. They were upset that Maplewood was beating everyone at the time, and now look MRH doesn't even have a football program anymore. The powers that be dropped MRH from the conference and they need to do the same thing with Valle. Can't believe they haven't done so yet. Plenty of blame to be passed around for the current situation. How many more 70-0 games will it take to for administrators to realize the best course of action is for Valle to move on. Valle is in a different stratosphere and everyone in the conference knows it. I still don't understand how Valle administration, coaching staff, and parents are okay with staying in that conference. What's the point???

Herculaneum beat Valle as recently as 2012 although they have been down the last few years. I saw the Valle vs. Grandview game last year, and it was the most pointless athletic contest I have ever seen. Poor guy at Grandview is trying to build a program and he has to play that game. I think Valle should go independent and consider playing the likes of North County and Farmington or perhaps Festus, Hillsboro, or De Soto. I think Hillsboro beats Valle, but everyone else would have to play very well and might still lose.

I'm sure there are many complications, although it would be made easier by the fact that the MAFC Blue is only a football conference. They would still be MAAA for everything else. In any event, I was just thinking out loud.

What do North County, Farmington, Hillsboro, or Festus have to gain by playing Valle? Win and who cares, you're supposed to, lose and you just lost to a Class 1 school. Valle would beat Desoto and probably North County by a LOT.

The whole large school/small school debate about win and who cares, lose and you lost to a class 1 school is invalid with Valle. When you have 15+ state titles and are an elite program classification goes out the window. And yes it is pretty simple to leave the conference if Valle would choose to do so. I'm sure all the other conference schools would gladly hold the door open for them as they walked out!! And then throw a party.

Getting out of the Conf. is not the issue. Getting into another conf or putting together an ind. schedule would be very tough.

MSHSAA has at least 5 schools looking for varsity games now. Valle is also close enough to look out of state to parts of IL, KY, TN and AR. I think they like playing in that conference because it is guaranteed wins, and they get to develop the JV/Freshmen players on Friday nights. If they wanted to leave the conference they would make it happen. There are no good/valid reasons for Valle to stay in the conference. None whatsoever.

Where do you suggest they go?

You are 100% correct. There is absolutely no benefit to any of the kids on any of the teams. It's 50-0 by half in most of the games. Who does that benefit? I always hear people moan about how hard it is to schedule games, yet somehow they end up with a schedule. Come on. I thought this was "about the kids".

Well Mid-Buchanan, Trinity Catholic, Winfield, Sumner, and Principia are starters. All have open dates on MSHSAA. Why not try going out of state and play a powerhouse small school from another state. Who knows maybe then end up on ESPN for a HS game since they now have the longest active winning streak in the country. Point being get a tougher schedule.

Valle has a ton of money to make these big moves. Same level as Rockhurst!
