Word out in KC yesterday that the Cards may make a run at Alex Gordon. Is that true and if so, what do you all think about it ?

I would love to have him. I would assume that would coincide with some other deals/trades being made by Stl.

Seems the Cards are only willing to pay what their saber metrics tell them a player is worth and not market value. Thus a lot of second place finishes. Which right now looks like at least a 2nd place finish that won't involve a wild card. Still early, but it sure doesn't seem to be headed in the right direction. Come on MO make something happen to excite cardinal Nation and Jeyrko is not the answer

lot of guys unsigned still, not saying I'm jazzed with what has happened so far but it's too early to be positive or negative on the Cards overall.

Only thing I'm negative on is that we didn't have TLR in Arizona wanting Shelby Miller so bad last year. Jesus. What an awful trade by Arizona.

He has kicked the handle off of the win now machine......

And DESTROYED that farm system

For a player whose years of team control are already half gone. A player who may never make an all star team. A guy whose FIP was a full point higher than his ERA.

For that package I would maybe trade them anyone on the entire cardinals roster. Sheer lunacy.

Hope the Cards drive the price up on JHey and then let the Cubs deal with him. Use the money saved to get Upton and a starting pitcher.

Trust me man, you don't want Upton. I swear, I'd rather see Grichuck/Holliday/Piscotty/Moss/Adams/Pham man the four spots in OF/1B than use Upton. He's just like the rest of that group. I don't dig Upton at all. But he does play a mean CF though. I don't think I can deal with watching him for 700 PAs/season for the next 5 years.

Drive up the price

He will have an opt out deal, so it's only going to be a 4 year deal in the grand scheme.

If you thought the Cards fans were driven crazy by Heyward...Upton might give Cardinals Nation a heart attack

I guess we should just give a guy 20 mil to hit 290 16 HRs and drive in 60 runs while stealing 25 bases, but hey he is a heck of defender. That's where the money is at. If the Birds do this it does nothing to help a pathetic offense. But if they do he has to hit 1st or 2nd
Marp 3b
Heyward RF for $20 mil I'd put him in center and make him lead off, but then Marp would go into a funk
Piscotti/Moss 1b
Holliday LF
Grichuk RF
Honny SS
Wong 2b
Yadi C hope he can recover from his sorrow over his buddies being traded.
