High school softball league at 3R again this summer

Coach Jack Childress will once again host a summer softball league at Rains Field on the campus of Three Rivers College. For information contact Coach Childress at 573-776-4511 or Terry Pennington at 573-785-6400. They will have a meeting in March to decide a start date and other details.

We had a team in it last year. It was a very good season and a lot more convenient than trying to drive over to Cape every week. I applaud Coach Jack in his efforts to provide good, competetive softball here locally. It is also an opportunity for the younger players coming up to get some experience.

It was a good league and you could see the improvement in most teams over the summer. I think they may take a couple more teams this year.

Coach Childress will have a meeting concerning this summer league on March 28th at 6:00pm in the conference room behind the gym in the Bess Activity Center. Interested coaches are urged to attend.
