Moberly has just about climbed back up to supremacy in R16 and was about to settle in with a year upcoming that promised BIGGER things, and now we're about to lose our coach for the umpteenth time after establishing momentum. Now I have no problem with someone wanting to advance themselves, and God knows he has a right to go to Minnesota, but what happens to the recruits he's recruited to come to MoJuCo? Are they legally bound to go there? If there's a coaching change, can Smith take his recruits....or his whole last year's team, to his new job? What are the NJCAA rules and regs on this issue? Moberly could wind up with an empty cupboard!

In any event, what with all that's happened, or about to happen, the whole region suddenly is

Settle down Chicken Little. The sky isn't falling just yet. Maybe we should just wait and see what happens before we jump to the conclusion that the coach and all the players are gone.

It is my understanding, (not something I know) that your sophomore students have to have a release by Moberly in order to move up the ladder or to go to another D1 juco (With no loss of playing time). They could move down the ladder without Moberly's blessings. More knowledgable people please correct the above if needed. I may have that confused with high school seniors signings.

I think they can move up without any problem. They just couldn't go to another D1 juco without being released. As far as going to Bemidji State. Give me a break. Most of these players are definite D-1 prospects. Why would they waste it on some small school like Bemidji State? Maybe if they loved Pat Smith that much they would consider it. I would think that Coach Smith would in the best interests of the players encourage them to remain at Moberly and go on to better things next year.

Yeah, let's settle down. Smith isn't going anywhere yet, and he's still the coach of the MACC Greyhounds. He's just checking out an option. If it was golden and he didn't check it out, he'd feel dumb. Make sense?

no offense by bemidji isn't really a top notch program in the state of MInnesota i live here and they do little to cause a ripple in the newwires. It would be a task if he was upto it to turn it around. Allthough leaving the hounds wouldn't make me think they couldn't move on they could easliy transition.
