Plenty of movement in the Frisco League this summer.

According to the Richland Facebook page, Nancy Ward has been hired to coach the girls basketball team.
Laquey has hired Mike Austin
Plato and Stoutland now have openings for their girls programs.

Newburg girls position is now open as well. That could be an enticing job.

Is that for basketball or softball. I know former 3R Coach Jack Childress was coaching softball there and has taken the softball job at Doniphan.

May have been in reference to fact that their 8 girl roster last year had one senior, one junior, three sophs and three freshman. Two of the freshman 5' 7"-5' 8" range were above average and would have played significant minutes for a lot of teams.

3R, do you know anything in terms of their talent level?

Not too much. I know they lost at least 2 starters to graduation. One is going to play basketball at Rend Lake, a Juco in Illinois and another that will play softball at 3R next fall.

Plus have a good 8th grader who is a sister of one of the sophomores and a 7th grader who can play. They also dropped to C1 last year and could stay there for the foreseeable future. Numbers aren't great, but they won like 15 or 16 last year.

Newburg hires Ashlee Marlatt, 2019 graduate of Columbia college and 2015 St. James graduate who was an all state player and played a significant role in the Columbia College women’s basketball teams over the last 4 years.

Angela Barton, who I believe was hired earlier as the Head Volleyball Coach, was hired at the July Board Meeting to be the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Plato as well, per board minutes.

Mike Eads...STC grad from early to mid 2000's I think. Had been a girls assistant there for a few years.
