Harrisonville 28 Pittsburg (KS) 7 Final

I love the revisionist stats people on the Webb turnovers. Webb only had two more turnovers in the game than CJ.

3 more turnovers (globe article says it was 8 though I'm pretty sure it was 7) plus several other fumbles that they retained possession but lost yards. Anyone at the gam ebeing honest though knows CJ whipped WC that night so best to accept it and move on. There is a lot of meat on the bone before WC needs to look ahead to a potential CJ rematch.

Anyway it sounds like Harrisonville did that in a half and they will get you clobbered by a good team, which it sure sounds like PC is this year. Even so I still think H-villas win over Pittsburg is a good one. Pittsburg did put it on Chanute though looking at the highlights Chanute looked flat out awful so it doesn't tell much.

If Mosofan is correct and Pittsburg was minus their starting QB and outgained H-vile in their loss the 28-7 loss in their first game can be a little deceiving. I'm not just assuming WC just shows up and walks over them. In all the WC-Pittsburg games that has happened once that I recall.

I know in the early 90s WEBB beat Pitt by around 44. Being a Dragon and not bleeding the Cardinal colors until coaching my oldest in peewee Football I would bet a beer a point against a few guys at work. That sucked, damn near two cases.

As far as WEBB and meat on the bone, as I said after the CJ game and stand by it still, WEBB looked very inmature at QB and not knowing the kids if they improved with experience by Districts they will roll. WEBB wont have another conference game within two TDs and and dont expect much difference through Districts. I did pick NOSHO to beat CJ primarily based on the nemesis when the ball is bouncing your way it just is. NOSHO was very fortunate in a couple of their wins. Yes CJ beat WEBB and they do have a stud or two like Wall but I personally dont think with the way Link has shown improvement they could make a game against WEBB even now. Yes CJ had turnovers as well but theirs were mainly interceptions (which some say our Dbacks arent good because theyve been burnt twice in 4 games, whaaat) and their fumbles were from hits. WEBB had 8 balls put on the ground from center/QB exchanges. Thats merely repetition and experience. This isnt WEBBies opinions just mine..

For the record, my "kick butts" comment was just some poking. I've appreciated Webb's program since their surprising state championship in 1989 when the program began what is now a 3 decades and growing dominance over nearly all programs in general. CJ themselves hadn't beat them in 39 years, which is long before I moved here.

Would hate to have to play them again. But would also love to see the two meet again at a district championship game, in CJ this time.

I was at the game. PC is "not" a good team. The game should had been over in the first 6 mins.

Harrisonville was very small.

After seeing Platte County twice, I wonder just how good Staley really is.

Kearney/Liberty North will be interesting if the Bulldogs bite the Eagles hard.

7 turnovers for WC and 3 for CJ. I don't know how they do math up north but that equals 4 more not 2 more.

Technically your right but I believe
23-7 is the only math that really counts.

With that said...
I look for it to be more like this the next time.
7-23

We definitely got our butts whipped the first 2 weeks. Who knows what will happen in 9 weeks.

No one knows the future but it is fun pretending we do. ;)
This is becoming the least predictable season since I don't remember when................and that is the fun of this great sport. Just when you think you know.................

Unless you are a Kearney fan! Really think they are the only historically top level class 4 team that has been consistent this season so far.

Well they are untested and there are issues I want to see ironed out before committing to them. Every time I get on the Platte County bandwagon it derails................maybe this year it won't.

As an addendum to why I still think this Kearney team is basically an unknown vis-a-vis repeating check out the combined records of the teams they have played and some of their other results (Fort O's rapid descent is beyond shocking).
