Hannibal RB/ATH Aneyas Williams Recruiting is starting to take shape!!!

Hannibal had the misfortune of catching Smithville coming off their D's only subpar performance of 2021 coupled with that being a historic one at the medium enrollment level.

I watched and covered the entire game no fault of this kid he couldn't get loose and do his thing. That won't be the case this fall.

Would not surprise me one bit to see these two face off again this November-December (Warriors graduated a lot but QB Hedgecorth will return).

And a 31-0 loss to Smithville shows how much better Hannibal is? LOL Excelsior Springs had more rushing yards than Hannibal against SV. You obviously don't follow college recruiting.
5-5 for 3 years in a row with a schedule that anyone can win 5 games.

Your incoming seniors have never had a winning season.

If your players are as good as him, what's the reason for not winning?

Only reason I would disagree with this is I don't know if Hannibal will be able to replace a couple kids on defense. I can't remember his name but I remember number 11 being an absolute stud the two times I watched them this year. With that being said, maybe Aneyas is just so unstoppable next season that it doesn't matter. I hope that is the case cause it would be a blast to watch!

Hannibal was #4 with one good win over West Plains. MICDS or Lincoln Prep both were better, and it was pretty obvious.

Probably Zimmerman I think he is #11. Hannibal graduated I believe 6 all state kids. So they will have to replace quite a bit including a very good QB in Watson. HBL Pirates can comment more on this.

Rank them however you want Joey, they finished 2nd in the state. The best part about this game is it comes down to wins and losses. Only stat that matters.

Having said that do I think they would have beaten MICDS or Lincoln Prep? No I don't think they would have

You never know sometimes how easy or hard a schedule might be.

Okay mr wise guy let me tell you had it is. i agree that Hannibal has weak schedule but you know why. Hannibal is in a bad geographically area. Most teams in a hour radius of hannibal are class 1-3 schools. The GAC schools don't want hannibal because of travel and when the CMAC founded back in 2020 Hannibal wasn't apart of it, You know why, it because the Columbia , and Jeff City schools didn't want travel to Hannibal every other year. They're a big difference from KC Area Schools and Northeast missouri schools. Where do you think the best recruits come from, The "BIG CITIES". How Many Recruits can you think that has played Division 1 for football that ain't from St. Louis area ,Kansas City, Springfield, Joplin, Columbia, Jeff City, and St Joseph areas. i bet you can't name 10 Recruits. I bet Hannibal has more recruits played Division 1 football than Smithville and Kearney Combined.

If You look at Smithville Schedule and Hannibal schedule. I bet Smithville doesn't travel more that 40+ Miles conference games while Hannibal travel almost 60+ miles in conference games every year . They're only one team that's like Hannibal and that's West Plains. West Plains is always good every year but you know Why they can't get Far because they're not in a big City. If Hannibal or West Plains was a KC or STL area School, they would be winning champions left and right because most parents want their kids go played in big cities, that's where they get the most attention

Hannibal schedules 3 CMAC Schools every year Helias, Jeff City Jays, And Battle, if you take them 3 out and that leaves Rock Bridge, Hickman, Capital City, and Smith-Cotton. Mexico, Moberly and Kirksville are better than the remaining 4 CMAC schools.

Lets go to the GAC, GAC North is the weakest conference in the state, Winfield/elsberry, Orchard Farm, St Charles, St Charles West, and Warrenton.

GAC Central has Ft Zumwalt North Ft Zumwalt South, Ft Zumwalt East, Washington, liberty Wentzville and Francis Howell North. You can't tell me some of these teams are better than Mexico, Moberly, and Kirksville.

GAC South is the Best Conference between both GAC North, and Central, NCMC, and CMAC. Hannibal can't join the South Conference since they're mostly High enrollment Class 5 Schools and Class 6 Schools.

On the Aneyas topic. This kid has some unreal talent. yes they shut Aneyas down in the Championship game but one player can't win a state Championship it's all about the team not one single player. Aneyas has best catching ability, and the best juke moves in the state. you don't want be on the field with aneyas on offense or defense because he will run you over like a train.

I'm calling it. Aneyas will be in the NFL by 2029 and Hannibal will Win Class 4 in 2024

Hannibal lost a lot on the offensive side but not the Defensive side . i'm really not worried about Hannibal offense this year. Hannibal lost watson but this new QB for Hannibal has a better arm and can run better than watson, Hannibal will have Aneyas and Possibly #33 in the backfield, Hannibal receiving core will be shaky but i know in fact a there will be a senior next year will take over receiving duties this year. He's about 6'2 around 200 pounds,, He's alot quicker than aneyas & he was held out most of the season with a broken toe and he's having surgery after Track season. Hannibal returns 4 of 5 Starters on the O Line, and Hannibal weakness next year on defense will be their secondary.

Were MICDS to remain Class 4 this would change. I expect them to move up to 5.

LP would have been a very good game. MICDS had Smithville and let them get away. Ditto LSN over CBC. Let the favorite out of jail the next week that team will play FAR better.

Your Pirates will contend seriously this fall................

Hannibal loses one starter from the secondary....Greenwell. He was damn good and a 3 year starter. He will be hard to replace. The other 3 starters return, including Williams, who didn't even play defense as a freshman. He had 3 ints and was 3rd on the team in tackles with 73, and he missed a game. The secondary will not be a weak spot at all. Replacing Zimmerman on the DL and Tyler Hardy at ILB will be the challenge defensively.

Are we talking recently from Kearney? They get their share of D1s: Cale Garrett was a three year starter at Mizzou. SEC players of the week multiple times. Joe Windsor, Northern Illinois, three year starter. Brock Christopher, played 4 years at Mizzou, Beau Brinkley, starter at Mizzou, 8 years in the NFL with the Titans. Tommy Saunders, four year starter at Mizzou. One of their best FB receivers of late was on the national Champion Mississippi State baseball team. Their current TE is 6-3, 230 and already has one D1 offer, and is being recruited by 15 D1s, recently won the state power lifting championship, all-state in track as a soph. Faster and stronger than Cale Garrett.

I bet Hannibal as more state championships than Kearney, too?

Smithville plays in a conference that is Class 4 and Class 5. Some have been rotated out--Grain Valley, Platte County. The good Class 4s in the area also schedule decent Class 5s instead of finding some C3 or weak C4 to play on their optional schedule. The Warriors got Pittsburg, KS scheduled for this year. In recent years, Smithville would have played a much harder schedule, if that were an option.

i really meant by if u can name rural players that played football for division I schools.
schools since 2001 like Hannibal, West Plains, Jackson, Camdenton, Lebanon, etc

i do agree with everything you said,i didn't know Saunders, and Christopher played at kearney.

i hope you agree on me on this. Hannibal is located in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by Class 1 and 2 schools. Hannibal conference schedule is made up of schools 200 or more students less than Hannibal enrollment. Hannibal has to travel more than a hour away in their conference and non- Conference games every year. if you look at Kearney or Smithville schedule they don't travel has much than Hannibal does every season. They're is not St. Louis conference or the Central Missouri Activities conference wants hannibal. Hannibal is stuck playing in their conference, and they can't prove how good they really are if they're not playing a weak conference

Hard to get tested too. Big disadvantage. By the time someone gets out of District 8, they have been battle tested, and probably faced two Class 5 teams of good quality as optional games.

Clubine only started because Douglas got hurt. He played well at times, but they won't necessarily miss him. Powell was the 3rd corner, who also played very well at times. He will be easily replaced. Yes, Pinner is gone, and I would think it will be hard to replace his speed off the edge. He was an OLB/DE.

Since a majority of message board posting is about proving you're smarter with better opinions I just wanna say 2 things:

1) Aneyas Williams would be one of the best if not THE best players on Kearney this year. I don't need to hear all the Kearney dudes metrics, Williams got that dawg in em. We all know it.

2) I could def name 10 high level D1 players that didn't come from a city of more than 50k. Because I'm SMART and I want you all to RECOGNIZE IT.
