Lock down the borders and deport the ones who break laws or do not contribute.

Those are reasonable compromises.
Ones Obama would reject.

Any immigration reform will include amnesty, no matter how much that pisses off the right. They cannot afford to get trounced by the Democrats among the Hispanics again.

See Duck (and Buck), any "compromise" that isn't giving Obama what he wants or requires him to give up what he wants is unacceptable.
Americans clearly want the border sealed, want e-verify (or eqivalent), and compassion for longtime community members but that is unacceptable.

I'm not in favor of amnesty, not sure why I was added to this conversation.

If there is one thing that separates Republicans from Democrats it's the Tea Party. The Far Left's 99% will cave when Harry Reid speaks or commands them to set down and shut up. The Tea Party on the other hand has no problem eating their own...

John Boehner is not one of US.

Why would the GOP not want amnesty? Reagan did it so it must be kosher.

Re: No Democrat is proposing $15 per hour

Yeah there is no real deal that doesn't result in a path to citizenship for immigrants here with no serious criminal record or something like that. It may involve paying fines and other hoops to jump through but any real deal will result in the opportunity for millions already here to stay permanently.

The dirty truth is that lots of sectors of the economy depend on illegal labor, not least of which is farming. Notice how silent the US chamber of Commerce is on this subject.

The #1 job replacer in the World is not Human but Human made.
Your using one right now.

This device has probably created more jobs than it has replaced. How many people around the world now use this thing for a living that would have no job at all if not for computers. And it's made a lot of millionaires and billionaires with the off chute tech stuff they have created to keep you and me involved in their use and helped businesses reach people and places than they never dreamed they could before.

The robot in the car industry. The bar code in the Sales Dept. The robo call in Tele Marketing . The Dept Store shutdown due to online sales. The overseas manufacture that ships directly to your door. The yard work being done by the kid that out bid you on his home computer . The map being made digitally, paper products no longer needed. The ad agency that uses still photos of computer generated models. The Engineering Degree that now is obtained online, no professor need apply. The teacher who talks to her students through a note pad rather than a class room....

You get the point.
The age of the tin can telephone is over.

We were not discussing robots, at least I wasn't using one, when you made the comment. Now make a list for me of jobs created by computers. Think how many jobs making computers has created. It's quite the myth that computers allow us to go paperless. Most computers have printers attached to them, I can reach one from where I'm sitting now. If not for my computer I would have no use for the printer and the only use I would have for the paper would be for my 5 year old grandson to draw on and cut into many different things. At least some of them look like things.

I'm sure it is in a lot of instances but I had no need for a printer before I had a computer and I'll bet their are millions more just like me. Loans documents for a house or car are NOT paperless, they take a LOT more paper than they used to and there are a LOT of them being filled out everyday. I'm all for not cutting all the trees but have you seen store receipts these days. You can buy a pack of gum and the receipt is a foot long at Kmart and other stores. They use the receipt for advertising and nearly no one pays any attention to them.

That's all temporary.

Plenty of stores now email you your receipts, for instance. Walgreens is a notable example of this (as is anyone who uses Square). I've signed a bunch of forms and things on iPads lately. My dentist bills me via email since it ties into his electronic records. Paperless billing for so much. E File your taxes. I haven't received a paper paycheck stub in a long time. All anecdotes, but they are part of a trend.

More and more of this is coming. Loans will all be electronic soon enough.

And that is why someone could bring down our economy with the few strokes on a keyboard. The U.S. Postal Service has been hacked and the personal info of 750,000 employees is in the hands of ???? They said the general public is ok if they used the USPS site to do business but are at risk in other areas.

3r you ware me out.
When I said computers replace jobs I was speaking of "any" CPU device that controls another device...

Never mind

I try to ignore your spelling, that could take up all my time trying to fix and as sure I said something my next post would have 3 errors in it. I ain't best speller but you take the cake on some pretty easy words so I assume you do it on purpose much of the time.

It's no harder to type wear than ware but I knew what you meant so I guess it just don't matter. The english language is rather strange with words that are spelled the same but have different meanings depending on how they're used and then there's those like that are pronounced the same but spelled different. I don't know how we ever learned all that stuff in school.
