As hard as he hits the ball. If strikeouts were hits and hits were strikeouts he would be batting over .250.

But instead, he is hitting .227 and insanely swings at a ball in the dirt over and over and over again. Not pitches that are "dropping off the table", but pitches that start low and stay low and are blocked by the catcher. Cue the strikeout joke from 3R.

On the other hand the velocity of Diaz's hits isn't as great but the combination of Diaz weakly putting the ball in play and running as hard as anyone in the league has gotten him a plethora of infield hits including four the past two days.

You surely aren't saying putting the ball in play is better than striking out!

Grich seems to decide before the pitch whether he's swinging or not. He doesn't seem able to adjust very well.

Will Pham put him on the bench and send Hazelbaker down?

The slider down and away seems to eat him up regularly. I was hoping he was coming around last week as I saw him take a couple of pitches on the outer half the other way (including his walkoff homer).
