Larry Laubenstein +40 years at St. Paul's Lutheran in Concordia. Recent State Coaches Association Hall-of-Fame. Did more with less than any coach I can think of.

I will throw Nathen Norman's name out here. Made Cape Central a title contender in just a few years. Lindbergh is undefeated and state ranked (may be better on paper than they really are) in his second or third year there. He gets kids to buy in. Great dude to talk to as well in the few times I have had the chance to interview him.

Steve Ary

Willow Springs in the 90s to early 2000s. Won a number of district titles and conference.

Mountain Grove from the early 2000s to about 2012 or so. Took them to back to back Semifinal appearances in 3A. And won a number of conference and district titles there.

West Plains is where he currently coaches and he's completely turned that program around with an 8-3 finish in 2014 with a share of the OC title, a 10-2 finish in 2015 losing to Webb in the district title game and 4-1 so far this year.

I don't know what his career record is though.

Would need to find realray, I know he would have the answer on that one.

And I'm not a fan of mountain view at all, but one could make the argument that Darin Acklin belongs on this list as well, whatever my opinions are of him, can't overlook what he has done for the Mountain View-Liberty program over the last 15 years.

Will Christian, won a state title at Marionville in the early to mid 2000's and went to Lebanon and inherited a bad program and made them successful year in and out. Has won some OC titles and has won while running different systems: I, spread, flexbone. Seems to adapt to the kids he has.

Yes, you could do yourself a favor and educate yourself on football all across the state and not just one area. I've lived all over the state NWMO, NEMO, St. Louis area, SWMO, South Central Missouri, and can appreciate teams from all areas of the state and not just one certain area.

I'll get right on that. Thank you for helping me.

Hancock should definitely be on the list. For some reason I was thinking that he possibly had a couple of state titles. He had a number of great runs at Stockton and Branson
Coach Hancock finished State Runner-up at Branson in 1987 and 1989. The 1989 state title game they lost on the last play to Lutheran North. They were up 26-14 with around 2 minutes left in the game.

Burl Fowler, Monett won the title in 71 Cancer took him too soon in the HOF, Benny Lawson would take over for Burl and Monett would win the title in 77 and then he would go to Parkveiw and had success there.

Lots of great Coaches in this thread. Coach-of-the-Year always goes to the Head Coach who wins the State Title that year...which is understandable.

Even though it's hard to measure and quantify...there are plenty of Coaches who do "More with Less" and maybe have never won a State Title...but are absolutely GREAT Coaches

Maybe it's just me...but I sensed a lot of sarcasm in that original post...moreso than ingorance and disrespect?

I understand that it's possible that it was sarcasm, but based off of the posts from that account on other threads and not just this one, I doubt it, but I completely understand where you're coming from
