I have to say I agree with him. An Elite 8 loss is less embarrassing for the university than some things that have gone on in that program this year.

I kinda like watching those good old rivalries. I watch a ton of UK and MU games and that's about it. Not enough time during the season to watch much more. So when it comes to tourney time and the FF, if the Blue Bloods are good, yes I'd rather see them. Gimmie UK, UNC, Duke, and UCLA in the FF this year and I'd have been a happy camper. I just don't get giddy thinking about Gonzaga/Oregon. For the record, I absolutely love Dana Altman and couldn't be happier for him. And I loved me some Butler when Stevens was there.

Is there a coach who does less with as much talent that he recruits than Self? I like the quote of Mo Bamba who surprisingly listed Michigan in his final schools. He said that he likes the way that Belein develops his players to get them ready for the NBA. Specifically pointed out Wilson and Wagner as under the radar prospects who are probably a year away from being adequately ready for the NBA. Belein's recruiting pitch was basically, you can see what we can do with 2 or 3 stars prospects, just imagine what we can do with you. And he responded positively to that pitch. Also, Belein made him visit the campus before he would offer him. #3 prospect wants to be coached. I think he'll end up at Duke, but we'll see.
