Yep this has nothing to do with Republican policy this is all about supporting Trump and the big lie over the election. Cheney will not bow down to Trump and kiss the ring whereas Stefanik is willing to do that.
Cheney has voted with Trump 93% of the time, has an 80% score on the with Heritage Action a conservative pressure group.
Stefanik only has a 48% score with Heritage action and has only voted with Trump 60% of the time voted against the tax cuts, has tried to get SALT repealed, voted against funding the border wall. Never endorsed Trump by name.
Republicans can never have a true debate about policy until they decide to oust Trump!! ... Trump has to go so we can actually get back to fighting the Dems on policy not on stolen election lies!!

Republicans are shooting themselves in the foot. If Trump couldn't win in 2020, I don't see anyway he could in 2024. The smartest thing they could do is forget about him and push a younger, more dynamic person who can get moderate dems to swing their vote. With continued unemployment benefits, freebies, etc., the young generation will vote dem more than ever. With the stock market doing so well, moderate Republicans who were tired of Trump's mouth and garbage would never vote for him in 2024.

Honestly I agree with you I would say about 50% of his base wants to see him run again, the other 50% want to see somebody who will go all in on Trumpism. Under secret ballot not many Pubs support Trump but when pressed out in the open they pledge thier allegiance to the man.
Me personally I liked many of the things he talked about and support policy wise, however once elected he was very unfocused and showed no discipline when it came to getting things done.
But after the lost election, I really lost all support for the man, I just want somebody elected who can actually lead and get things done and not worry so much about personal vendettas or evening the score.. Trump once elected was very unfocused because of that, I think.
But really I think many who support Trump don't support many traditional Pubs like Mitch and Liz.. Many are former blue dog Dems.
I think that the DOJ may just have something to say about that before all is said and done...
Most Pubs are not super Trumper's as you said if pressed.....but with that said he did unite the Conservatives in 2016 because he had swagger and Dem's hated him....which was a huge bonus to many. I think he did more Policy wise than you give him credit for....the economy, Peace deals in M.E., reallocating Troops in Europe. Trying to reign in China's Economic expansion. Fast tracking the Vax's and getting it to people in record time.

To an extent, but the Reps never wanted to work with them anyway. The January 6th commission is an example of the difference between the 2 parties. I would....not a problem. Kids die everyday. Mostly from vehicle crashes...around 4 thousand a year. I don't see a call for stopping kids from driving or riding in vehicles. A real threat to the lives of Kids.

Why would you want to decrease the time in prison to those willing to use Guns in act's of violence? When the Purpose of Prison is to punish and to isolate Criminals from Society and the innocent? If you think in the American System that rehabilitation is a thing you are sadly mistaken.... All the while taking away the means and ways to protect a person from the CRIMINALS who acted in the most dangerous manner possible.
When it comes to Self Protections and the Punishment of Criminals it is a Black & White subject.
Clearly the Left has some warped moral mind set. Let's take away the 2nd amendment rights and or infringe on them to a large degree.....but on the other hand let's allow Dangerous, Violent criminals to walk early and get back to their recidivist ways.
Also making hard and fast rules that are clearly enforced without exceptions......well it cannot be nuanced in the least.
When it comes to not infringing it is Black and White.....meaning no Limits, diminish, weaken, impair, erode. Any Gun Law aka regulation does that. Back Ground Checks. Registration, Red Flag laws, the effort to try and Ban certain types of Fire Arms and or magazine capacity etc. They all infringe on the Right to bear Arms. A fundamental right afforded by the Bill of Rights.
And yes it's a slippery slope.....as you can see that as of now their are around 20,000 laws regulating Guns.....Fudging 20,000!!!

And then the Local Police in that state basically make it impossible to own a firearm or to obtain one. That is why we fight so hard to stop any and every gun law or regulation.
Well it depends on the regulation? What exactly are you speaking to? If we are talking background checks I have nothing against that, I know those on the right will say a Criminal doesn't need a background check...and if that is true then any other citizen should be able to find a gun.
I had a friend tell me that once that he could get a gun in less than a day like a criminal, I challenged him to do it...three years later I am still waiting for him to show me how criminals do it...
