I'd be willing to bet the reason he was called was because they knew they'd need Lyons to cover Masterson's innings. The better question is probably...How do you run Masterson out there in that same pennant race?

I hope yesterday convinces the Birds higher ups that they have better options than Masterson. If he starts Th. against the Brewers I may be done with them for the rest of this year.
