I would like to call attention to a pretty decent Class 1 girls team up here in North MO. The Green City Lady Gophers are currently undefeated and hold a Novinger Tournament championship win over Scotland County who was Top 10 ranked in Class 2 at the time. They also hold a victory over a strong Class 2 Gallatin squad. (Gallatin's only other losses are to Class 3, state-ranked Trenton.) This team was 1 point away from the Final Four last year and return their top 2 scorers from that team. I would think that their case for a ranking would be fairly strong. Thanks.

I seen Green City play in the quarterfinal game last year. They had a good team.

Walnut Grove ( #1 on Class 1) beat a real good Mid-Buchanan team (#3 in Class 2) last Saturday.

Might be the best Walnut Grove team to date. Two Seniors on this team the rest are underclassmen. Three freshmen start on this team and they are very good. Class 1 could be dominated by the Lady Tigers for several years to come.

I think Faith Gilkey is a good point guard especially for a freshman. Bayley just continues to get better and better. I expect to see Walnut Grove back in the Final 4 for the 7th straight year.

I would agree with you! This team is going to be hard for any Class 1 team to beat this year.

The Lady Gophers had another strong week, going 3-0 and adding a second consecutive Milan Invitational Championship to the resume. Started this week off with a dominating win over Meadville last night.
