and opening up a bunch of old coal plants. They once had 17 nuclear power power plants up and running, they're down to 3 and about to shut those down.

They should keep all them Coal/Nuclear running full force to supply cheap energy to their citizens.

But the Japanese incident has scared the Germans so now Nuclear must go....clearly they believe that Climate change is less of a threat than a Nuclear disaster.

Well look at the US and our nuclear energy policy....
on another subject, I am looking at doing solar on my home, and if I tie into the grid I can only produce up to 90% of the power I use based on my last years usage. Now I do own some land outside of town, and I can put my solar on it tie it into the system and it will offset my bill at my house, but again it can only be up to 90% of my last years usage. The land is pretty much worthless and I purchased it thinking it would be good for solar. But the electric companies don't want you producing more than you use? I would think it would be good for them and the grid?

Oh so now the Green party is actually waking up from their delusional fantasy and making a logical decision...to keep producing clean green energy.
